Depends on your ability to tolerate jank from a game made by 2 people.

Not really but sort of. Ultimately most of the world is independent and whimsically wondering through the brutal environment prepmaxxing is the main selling point.
There's a few sidequests but the meat and potatoes is the MSQ that features the same events unfolding but told from four separate paths that you need to do for the whole picture.

I love outward and have 120~ hours in it but it's very polarizing. Even I bounced off it in my first 30 minutes until I tried it again a couple weeks later.
The three brothers expansion is supremely dogshit and I have no clue how why they made it
