i'm not getting one until it is

nope

WHO IS BUYING THIS SHIT? GRRRRRRAHHHHH IT'S MAKING ME FURIOUS!!!!!
>>
>>739862273
Aren't you supposed to do the opposite? You buy a launch version and don't update it so future firmware doesn't lock you out of exploits?
>>
B-BUT THAT ONE GUY SAID NINTENDO WAS SLOWING DOWN PRODUCTION!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA MY AXE WOUND IS SPLITTING OPPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENNN!!!!!
>>
>>739862308
Nintendo might barely make any games anymore but they do at least have some games coming out. If you like videogames then you might as well get a switch 2. For people who have plenty of money it doesn't take much to make a purchase worthwhile, you just need *something* to offer them. And switch 2 does have a couple of exclusives, unlike xbox/playstation
>>
>>739862171
Makes sense, they announced a new pokemon game and that's usually a console seller.

>>
>>739862171
This was info from Mochizuki, that guy that everyone was clowning on for supposedly being wrong.
>>
>>739862456
Technically speaking PS5 has exclusives too. Technically. They are now mostly third party devices though.
>>
>>739862308
Well there's some new customers after gabe suicided the steam deck and by extension gabecube and frame. Time to buy a console made by a real company.

Nobody. It's slowing down.
>>
>>739862171
Probably starting now to meet extra demand for Pokemon.
Strange that Switch 2's second major game is coming 2.5 years after launch, that's a major gap, even PS5 had God of War Ragnarok 2 years in and Horizon Zero West a year and 3 months in after launching with Dark Souls remake and Spiderman Miles Morales.
>>
Why has Nintendo's major first party title output slowed down so hard? It's weird how they launched a new console but barely any games for the thing. Did Gamefreak at least announce a new Pokemon?
>>
>>739864092
The Switch 2 has more first party exclusives than the PS5
>>
>>739864092
>Why has Nintendo's major first party title output slowed down so hard? It's weird how they launched a new console but barely any games for the thing. Did Gamefreak at least announce a new Pokemon?

They literally just released a game last week retard
>>
>>739864092
yeah but for next year, and we don't even have a date. You know things are bad when even gamefreak can't get games out in a timely manner anymore. Those guys were the last bastion of devs who could release games consistently

The fact that flagship series like Smash and 3D Mario etc. are all not going to see a new entry in an entire decade suggests things have gone off the rails at Nintendo. You know those guys would release at least 1 game a decade if they knew how, but they've totally lost the ability
>>
>>739864208
And way less third party support
>>
Do you think Sony regrets closing all their first party studios?
>>
>>739862427
That article is written by the same guy who claimed they increasing production to 20 million
>>
>>739864242

No retard it suggests switch 1 was still selling like crack still and they decided to wait to put those new entries on switch 2. Very simple you get one per generation. How is /v/ this retarded
>>
>>739864092
HD game development is resource intensive, apparently Starfox is the combined efforts of the Mario and Zelda team.
>>
b-but /v/ told me it flopped
>>
>>739864354
those series have NEVER had even CLOSE to a decade without new entries

Nintendo could have had 2 games a generation, they've done that plenty of times. Or have you forgotten that Galaxy 2 exists or something? When you double dip you get twice the sales. But they didn't because they can't make games in a reasonable amount of time anymore. They've lost the ability
>>
>>739864242
The Mario team released Bowser's Fury and Bananza, and the Smash theme supported Ultimate for longer than any Smash game and they also just released Kirby Air Riders. Plus there are already rumors that 3D Mario and Smash are still coming.

Sure, games take longer these days, but Nintendo is not the worst case of it.

Based. Haven't touched my pc much at all since picking up my Switch 2. Forgot how sovlfvl Nintendo games were. Going through the Pikmin series for the first time, playing Pokopia, and replaying Wind Waker. All while enjoying the fresh spring/summer air on my back porch.
>>
>Nintendo reportedly plans to increase Switch 2 hardware production to 20 million units, a 20% rise, despite previously forecasting a sales decline from 16.9% to 16.5 million units for the next fiscal year.
>According to Bloomberg, sources stated that this increase is not final and may be adjusted based on demand.
>Before the Switch 2 launch, Nintendo projected 15 million sales but ended the year with 19.9 million units sold.
>>
>>739862369
yes but it barely matters anymore. software exploits have basically gone extinct.
>>
>"For them, there is no real downside in lowballing numbers first and then surpassing them later," said industry analyst Serkan Toto. "The just-finished fiscal year is a good example."
>Toto predicted 18 million units sold for the fiscal year, despite recent price increases that Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa attributed to current market conditions.
>"Consumers will get used to the higher cost eventually, and there are creative ways for Nintendo to soften the blow, such as with bundles," Toto continued. "I would not be surprised if the actual number will be higher than this."
>>
>Regarding Nintendo's latest forecast of 16.5 million units, Furukawa said this "takes into account current sales momentum and the sales performance in the second year of our past dedicated video game systems."
>"The pace of adoption of Switch 2 is extremely fast, even when compared to the Switch, and we do not see any particular concerns about its momentum at this time," he continued.
>"Going forward, we have many new titles for Switch 2 prepared, and we will carefully convey the appeal of each title to encourage people to transition to Switch 2 at their own pace.
>>
>"In that context, we will work to increase the Switch 2 installed base over the medium to long term and increase software sales and the number of annual playing users."
>Nintendo reported significant growth in net sales and profits after its first fiscal year of the Switch 2, with net sales reaching ¥2.3 trillion ($14.6 billion), an increase of 98.6%.
>The platform holder also reported a 106.7% increase in dedicated platform sales, totalling ¥2.2 trillion ($14 billion) from hardware, software, and accessories.

>>
>>739864995
Mochizuki is a fraud and nothing he says can be taken at face value.
That being said, Nintendo's forecast is way too low and they're probably lowballing on purpose. Wouldn't be the first time.

I'm taking this article with a grain of salt myself. I don't believe it until Nintendo reports it themselves and we see it in action.
>>

Its a different era retard. Are we going to ignore bowsers fury, all the updates ultimate got and even fucking donkey Kong bananza? Same with animal crossing which just got a big update as well. Plus as I mentioned switch 1 was selling like crack so why would they release multiple franchise entries when they need to sell switch 2. Nothing what you said indicates any issues with their development not even fucking close considering they hold games for over a year lmao
>>
>>739865491
So Nintendo did reduce production a few months ago, because Mochizuki is right...
>>
>>739865745
DLC doesn't represent nearly the same amount of production that a new game does, it's incomparable
>>
>>739862171
Are they ever going to make an OLED/Pro model? I'm not buying this one with its shitty screen.
>>

how about SOME FUCKING GAMES ALREADY

Ah, what a relief. I was worried that Nintendo had lost sight of the greater picture, focusing on games or whatever. It does my heart well to hear they're prioritizing what matters most; my investment. Get that line on up.
>>
>>739866404
>DLC doesn't represent nearly the same amount of production that a new game does, it's incomparable

Your entire point was basically that nintendo is having development issues because we have waited a long time for big franchises. Yet you continue to ignore the fact that many team have constantly put out content in between. Also your point about mario galaxy 1 and 2 is retarded because that was the first and only time they did that. Unless you want to count the NES. SNES had one mainline mario, N64 had one mainline, Gamecube had one mainline. Same goes for mario kart and smash. You cant be this retarded. Nintendo is literally pumping out games every month moreso than sony and microsoft combined with fucking 1/10th the man power and resources. Give them a break
>>
>>739862713
You don't understand, when a sources is saying something bad about my favorite company it is a notorious liar and when they say something good they are just stating the obvious.

hopefully it means new colors.
Was the removable batteries version just a troll? I want it.

Why do people pretend Nintendo is releasing Cyberpunk, Indiana Jones or Resident Evil complexity games? Everything so far is Switch 1 tier or barely above but 60fps.
>>
>>739870072
>Why do people pretend Nintendo is releasing Cyberpunk, Indiana Jones or Resident Evil complexity games?

Why do people like you pretend that resident evil is some complex game when requiem could literally just be a expansion of 9 its that short. Gamers like you think mo cap and voice acting is some godsend lmao. A game like yoshi in terms of design is probably more complex

Bananza, Mario Kart World, Pokemon ZA, Kirby Air Ride, Metroid Prime 4, Age of Imprisonment, Pokopia, etc. Compare that to most of the Switch 1's first year from Nintendo being nothing but Breath of the Wild until Odyssey and Xenoblade 2 came out over half a year after launch.

They have a much more steady and consistent output, but they're not throwing the landscape changing haymakers the Switch 1 led off with.
>>
They are increasing stock because there is some big release on sight, probably around November. Might be a Mario game, or that OoT remake if the leak turns out to be true (i hope not).
>>
>>739871125
November? Isn't there a big game coming out then?
>>
>>739870757
>They have a much more steady and consistent output, but they're not throwing the landscape changing haymakers the Switch 1 led off with
That's the real meat of the problem. People are more understanding of larger time spans between releases if what they do get can tide them over. We're getting more games, but they feel average, nothing special. Disposable. Don't forget that Smash Ultimate was around, and people would speculate non-stop on who was in.
>>
>>739870757

This. I swear everyone is fucking retarded. Switch 2 is easily beating Switch 1 in the same point in time, but people like kit and Krysta think switch 1 had some godly first year. Also go look at switch 1 in 2018 where they had fuck all it was literally mario tennis in feb and then smash in Decemeber. Switch 2 second year already has star fox, splatoon raiders, duskbloods, orbitals, and I know its not confirmed but lets be real here it will also have ocarina of time remake. Plus third party games and indies actually run fine.
>>
>>739862713
A couple weeks before this, he reported that production was being cut by 30%, so we'll just called it a -10% overall
