As the other anon said the hardware is a little dated but it's more than capable of playing older titles and emulating. It boots up quickly and it has a pretty good UI in steam OS. Though with prices right now what you'd be getting over other handhelds really would only be the control scheme, which is really nice having trackpads and gyro, but other handhelds are now a better value capability wise until they also go up in price.
