RE9 followed up and finished the Wesker children plot that was created by RE5 and followed up by REV2. So they kinda did. Plus REV2 is kind of a TLOU copy in terms of mechanics which RE9 is also akin to. RE9 is a clear followup to REV2. The Grace clone clone was flipped to the Wesker children plot at the end when the twist if Grace being normal. The flashback to "Grace" as a kid happens 8 years before Grace is even born, let alone it being revealed later it wasn't her. The immortality, infinite mind transfer plot was literally the goal of Wesker children, and this game baits and switches with Grace only to resolve all of Spencer's goals and ideals and resolve everything while then turning to the connections whether you like that or not. Maybe Alex will be in Connections, I wish she was in 9 instead of Zeno, but people are actually so retarded screaming that he's a wesker clone when he's a literal wesker child. They are not mocapped by the same actor to put it as simply as possible. They would not use Zenos actor for Albert in RE1/CV/5makes. Zeno is not a Wesker clone. He is a wesker child. Like Alex. Albert. An attempt at Spencer's immortality and God hood.
