The gadgets that give you a boost when you bump into someone have made me place surprisingly high. It’s extremely useful right before the finish line when you’re part of a pack, it gives you that little nudge to burst forward ahead of the competition.

You will definitely get destroyed at first when you go online but once you unlock the good gadgets and get used to the controls it shouldn't be that difficult, depending on your general gaming skills. There's a good amount of guides for this game and worst case scenario there's still the offline stuff and private lobbies.
