But it would be really nice if it didn't just create more questions. Cloud having Aerith's empty Materia, as well as the inevitable Lifestream moment points towards Cloud making his own Materia. It has to be something he chooses with his own agency. Again my suspicion is that he's going to have to voluntarily turn down Sephiroth's eternity, which means knowingly and intentionally letting go of Aerith and Zack. And then Cloud's Materia is going to be instrumental in the defense of the planet, in addition to Holy firing and failing to stop Meteor.
