It's too short and going back and forth between the playtstyles doesn't feel good.

I don't think playing both parallel stories at the same time is the right direction actually. If you want to have multiple campaigns you should be able to play them separate from each other. This is actually a step back towards RE6 except in a really dumb and gay way.

as someone who basically just replays resident evil games over and over at this point rather than actually trying any new games:

re9 actually fills a niche in the series for me for when im in a mood where i cant decide if i want to play a survival horror RE or an action RE. I think it got the mix almost perfect. Although it does definitely leave you wanting more of the Grace gameplay.

I thought the Leon sections were way too short. Though by half way through both just breeze through everything, which isn't new to RE, you always had more than enough resources.

I like the character but if I wanted Grace gameplay I'd just play 7 or 8 and if I wanted Leon gameplay I'd play 4-6.

I didn't dislike either side of the game but I felt like they were interrupting each other more than complimentary.

I'm not an RE4R hater but anyone who doesn't think RE6 had the best pure combat doesn't know what they're talking about. For the 900 things you could complain about in RE6 and probably be right about, the combat gameplay isnt one of them.

It's kind of funny once you realize Grace is less survival horror and more stealth action and most of the enemies you can explode from behind because they give you enough infected blood to make like 80 syringes.

The entirety of Grace's segment at the beginning of the hospital on insane difficulty is basically a Splinter Cell game. Since they move the location of the first pistol you're supposed to find, all of the encounters were crouch walking segments. Once you get stabilizers it's much more manageable, but holy fuck the entire intro sucks until you can comfortably get Grace's pistol.
