I need some games with kino job systems /v/. I got tricked into playing crystal project and while the combat and job system are fun, the exploration and platforming are frustrating cause I keep getting lost and missing jumps cause of my disabled hands.

The JRPG genre got taken over by Persona clones, good like finding proper job systems in games that aren't 20 years old.

I am willing to play games that are 20 years old, but their is bravely. I dunno if the octopath games have a job system. A few of the dragon quest games have good ones.

etrian odyssey (start with the third one)
ffv
bravely default

Etrian odyssey is more of the same like crystal project right? Just explore and play? No real guiding. Everyone says ffv ill download it. I absolutely love bravely default.

Yakuza Like a Dragon has a job system. They switched from real time brawling to a turn based combat system with jobs in the 7th game. It's a new MC so you don't need to have played the previous titles. It's quite fun and the story is stellar.

Etrian Odyssey is based on classic DRPGs like Wizardry. You've got a single town that acts as your central hub, where you heal, save, buy items, create and swap around party members, and accept and turn in quests. From there, you enter dungeons. Exploration is first person, maps are manually drawn, and there's a main quest that nudges you forward, but it rarely deviates from "the town will reward you for progressing past the next layer or next dungeon".

Sounds interesting, is there references to the past games? Im a sucker for going back to previous games to get references.

I played number 4 once and enjoyed it pretty well, but it was brutal hard and Im retardedly bad at games i forget to use status and spells I just press attack before I actually think about it.

The game literally has auto jump

The obvious answer is FF5 and FF Tactics.

they do

4 is generally considered the easiest entry in the series. There are definitely builds where mashing attack and having a healer on hand can work, but you miss out on a lot of the job system if you ignore the other mechanics.
>>
What do you want out of your job system exactly?
Final Fantasy 1 lets you pick your 4 characters' jobs at the beginning of the game, and you can promote them to an advanced one midway through, but you can't change to another job.
Final Fantasy 3 has you unlocking new jobs as you progress through the game, and you can change job whenever you want, but you can't mix and match abilities of different jobs.
Final Fantasy 5 works like 3 except you can also mix and match abilities from different jobs.
Octopath Traveler has 8 characters who each have a different main job that they can't change, but they also have sub-jobs that they can switch whenever.

You would definitely get more if you had played the previous games, but there are seven previous games that clock in at 40-60+ hours each... and the combat in the older games is real time brawling. They are great games story-wise, but the combat is entirely different.

Maybe ill try to actually think while I play. Ill give it a shot!

Generally my job system experiance is bravely default and dragon quest 3 and 7. I love when you master classes and get benefits from it that last over the entire character.

FFXI

You need to play Final Fantasy 5 if you haven't, it's the godfather of job systems.
Also check out Dragon Quest 9, it has the best job system in a Dragon Quest game.

False Skies is a fun game with lots of exploration and a neat Job system.

I liked Dungeon Travelers 2. They recently ported them all to PC aswell. It's a dungeoncrawler though, so it's light on story and mostly about dungeon exploration. You have 5 base classes that each have 2 more tiers of higher classes so you can customize your characters a lot. Every character also gets new outfits for each class so there's that aswell.

Seconding FF5. I swear the number of BD players I've seen over the years begging for FF5 without realizing it is comical. Its also way better than BD but I'm biased.

You could try fire emblem if you're okay with strategy rpgs. I don't know a lot about the series as a whole but three houses has a pretty fun job system. I still replay it a lot and sometimes I'll make characters into jobs that don't suit them for the fun of it. I'll also vouch for Etrian Odyssey as a very fun series.

I have these games, never tried them though, if it has a fun class system im all in.
