I've worked with unions for years. I've been a president (local) and a steward in 2 different ones. I've also been a manager several times, some in places that had unions and those that didn't. I'll give my two cents nobody asked for.There is no way this will end well. Rockstar is bloated, but they do produce good results. You don't see shortcuts when it comes to their actual product. I don't personally care for the newer GTAs or RDR2, but I don't deny they are well polished and detailed. A lot goes into these games. Rockstar also takes an extremely long fucking time to make a game. That's with management no doubt breathing down people's necks without roadblocks. To achieve the next GTA with the same quality - let alone superior - with a union? I don't see that happening. Something will give. They'll have to hire a lot more people but that's generally not a good idea. Unions often hampered my ability to get rid of shit employees. As soon as they stop fearing their jobs, they start slacking. Then everyone starts complaining that you aren't holding them accountable when it's not longer a simple "get the fuck out." I had so many bad employees that brought down morale. One in particular I fought to get rid of over the course of 5 fucking years. It took so many documented incidents before general council finally signed off on it. It's absolutely ridiculous.Unions are great when you have nothing but good workers. But even a handful of bad ones and the entire place will spoil. Just my input.
