I've often wondered if the nearly 2 decades I've spent on this godforsaken website has hurt me and my worldview in ways I can never recover from, but I'm at least thankful that it forced upon me a self-awareness for cringe so that I never went around like a sperg doing this shit. Of course there's great value in having an innocence, and constant cynicism and irony will wear you down and flatten you out until you're a smudge of a stain on the wall, but I still think I could have become one of these guys if left to my own devices.But maybe I'd be happy too, so who knows.
I should be happy at the fact that there are tons of women that play videogames nowadays because I might have something to talk to them about and also because I grew up during a time where it was almost entirely exclusively a male activity, but it's not as good as I might have imagined it in the past. There's this woman that is legitimately a 10/10 and she likes videogames which should have been my wet dream growing up, but it has become so commonplace that it doesn't even affect me anymore. Way back in the days if you met a woman that was into videogames it was considered a rarity and people would go nuts over it. Today? It's just normal. I guess the novelty has died completely.
