Does the 8bitdo Ultimate 2 and/or Pro 3 support Gyro on the Switch 2? It only specifies Switch on their website, not Switch 2.
Gonna pick up Smash, SF6, and some other fightan games and would rather not incur drift on my joycons or pro controller. The gyro would be nice for Splat and other games though.

Also, playing a new island on New Horizons. This multicrafting and crafting from your house storage shit they finally added (should have been in to begin with) completely changes this fucking game. Holy shit it's way better.

I don't love my Switch 2, but I will admit that whilst having to care for a friend's needy senior dog, it's quite nice to have it to play Tears of the Kingdom in 60 fps on. Also the Classic library is quite neat.

Just started TTYD in boost mode and kinda disappointed it is only 900p but better than nothing I guess. Nintendo needs to get off their lazy nip asses and drop patches for all first party switch 1 games. If they don't I'm afraid someone might burn down their headquarters.

I never played DK64. It seemed a bit weird and not its own thing with games like Banjo-Kazooie and Mario 64 being an option. And that is the opinion kid me had. I had to mow lawns to buy those crazy ass expensive games so I was pretty picky and looking for new things only. Now I did play Donkey Kong Classics, Donkey Kong GB, Donkey Kong Country 1/2/3, Donky Kong Land, Diddy Kong Racing, Donkey Konga, Mario vs Donkey Kong 1 & 2, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze featuring Funky Kong, and Bananza.
Somehow never played DK64. Is it actually any good? It seems like such a weird game compared tgo the rest.
>>
>>739899250
It's weird, you would think it would be Banjo but with DK, but to me it seems to somehow feel way different. Personally I love it and think it's got a lot of charm to it, as well as fits right in with the Donkey Kong series. But it is the collectathon to end all collectathons. It has a reputation of being a little too much collecting, and I definitely get that even though it never bothered me as a kid since I rarely got new games so the more content the better. It's definitely worth a play. Probably not a marathon but just something you pick up and play every now and then when you need something a little more fun to run around in.

>What are you currently enjoying today on your Switch 2 /v/?

I'm currently enjoying some "summer like games" to get ready for this hot summer:

-Zelda: Windwaker Gamecube Classics
-Kirby and the Forgotten Land Switch 2 edition
-Strife: Veteran edition
-Telenet Shooting Collection
-Sonic Crossworlds Racing (there is a festival right now)

Anyone can rec me other games for this summer?

I'm thinking on playing FF7: Rebirth (on PS5 tho), Lil Gator Game and DK64 N64 Classics

>What are you looking forward to, or most excited for in 2026 so far?

Splatoon Raiders and Rhythm Heaven new game, Nintendo's first party output has been disastrous

>Did you get anything from the current eShop sales?

Telenet Shooting Collection, Deadzone Rogue and Sephonie

Nope

Since pc gaming is imploding and doesn't have much of a future I'm preparing to sell all my components to panic buyers and make bank. Everything I play is on Switch 2 anyways and it's comfier playing games handheld instead of at a desk so may as well move there while the rest of gaming explodes/has cloud gaming forced like jewvidia and microshit want. Plus Nintendo is the only one making good games anymore, and Japan only cares about the Switch 2 so they're going to focus on releasing to it. Just makes perfect sense to hunker down on the only platform that has a secure future.

I had high hopes for "mouse" mode on the switch 2 but it's actually awful to use, even with a special "mouse" joycon mount. A shame really. I was looking forward to playing first person games on the Switch from my couch.

>>739899250
Having to go back to tag barrels every time you want to change kongs is annoying. But the game was designed around that. If you emulate on PC there's a tag anywhere mod. However your first playthrough I urge you to play without tag anywhere so you can get a feel for all the little details in the level design.
>>
>>739900247
You have to play Bananza like a platformer to greatly appreciate it. If you play it just like a destruction sandbox then you'll get bored quickly.

Nintendo's niche is that they are a platform for Japanese middleware games. If they don't like Japanese games then they are free to not buy Japanese games.

At the very least, Switch 2 is very relaxing to play as a handheld. Switch 1 handheld was painful because the joycon buttons were small and beady and stabbed your fingers.

You should check Dbrand joycon grips whatever they are called, I like them, you can just buy those grips and not the whole package, you can still dock the console with those on, the only problem is that you will have to unplug the left joycon if you need to use the USB ports.
>>
I just bought a Switch 2 bros, is the Pro controller really necessery? Are the joycons really that shitty to play on TV?
>>
>What are you currently enjoying today on your Switch 2 /v/?
Fire Emblem Path of Radiance. GameCube service is fucking rad. Never played this one as a kid and very much enjoying it. Approaching what I assume is the final parts of the game.
Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness. Pretty early on, but it's fun going back to this and seeing the ways its designed without certain standardisations in the series since. Having a lot of fun with it.

So mostly been on the GameCube stuff since there's not been any big new stuff recently. But they're coming in the next few months so there's that at least.

>What are you looking forward to, or most excited for in 2026 so far?
Star Fox. While I don't think we needed ANOTHER SF64, I can't lie that I'm interested in the concept they're going for here.
Rhythm Heaven Groove. Will be my first time playing the series, always thought it looked fun.
Fire Emblem Fortunes Weave. It was actually Engage that got me into the series in a big way (Three Houses didn't land for me but I did finish it), and i've since played Sacred Stones and now PoR. So this will be the first FE game I'm ACTIVELY excited for before release.

>Did you get anything from the current eShop sales?
Whenever I see it I'm tempted by the GTA Trilogy because I want a portable San Andreas, but the fact it's the dogshit Definitive versions sucks so I haven't bought it.

>Playing anything on handheld boost mode?
Nope, but I have considered buying the Switch version of Fate/Samurai Remnant since I hear it runs a fair bit better on Switch 2. I absolutely fucking LOVED that game, already own it on PS5 and finished it 3 times + all DLC, but I'd love a reason to play it again.
>>
>>739905774
World tour i haven't played much but its awright. You get fun little text messages from characters that are cute. And I mean Joycon. Haven't used pro controller.
>>
>>739906237
Even with Switch 1 I always thought the grip for the joycons was perfectly usable and it is only better now since they are bigger, just play with that for a while and see if it is enough for you, but I'll say Pro 2 is easily my favorite 1st party controller, now if you have a Pro1 I don't think is it that much worth the upgrade.
>>
>>739906237
I mean it's not necessary but the joycons do kinda suck. You could always put them in the controller grip and see if you can make do with that. If not 8bitdo has a cheaper controller. The pro controller is pretty nice but it's pricey so it's understandable if you want to skip it and save a few bucks.
>>
imj trying to enjoy games in handheld mode but text size is so small like wtf, can't developer add slider to change the size? FUCK YOU!
>>
>>739906239

The GTA Definitive Trilogy isn't that bad anymore, I mean, it's still way inferior to the originals but they aren't as terrible as they used to be

They're decent enough, but yeah, it still needs to big updates or patches maybe for them to be good, but we know that Rockstar of David won't bother anymore, let alone put the removed music
>>

Get this case: https://www.savage-raven.com/collections/nintendo-switch-2/products/savage-raven-by-skull-co-fissiongrip-revolutionary-split-grip-design-for-switch2?variant=51222966370596 (30 on amajew or cheaper here with coupons)
and this front cover: https://www.savage-raven.com/collections/nintendo-switch-2/products/savage-raven-by-skull-co-the-hardshell-front-cover-for-switch-2-standgrip?variant=50574670889252
The case allows for use of the kickstand, detachable joycons, has a brace for the joycon-to-switch connection to prevent damage from holding the device by a single attached joycon, and a covering case to provide the switch 360 degrees of protection while traveling without adding an INSANE amount of bulk like 99% of other grip cases. About as thick as the cursed skin you linked that makes face buttons impossible to press.
In addition to this you can do some fancy shit like doubling the battery with a few things.
Magnetic ring: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CY1ZB8YB (any ring between .5 and .8mm should work, these are .7mm and what I used)
Magnetic battery (45W output via usb-c for max charge speed): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DMP8N3D9
2cm USB-C angled cable: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FL82DWSJ
With this you have double the Switch 2 battery life without any dangling wires.
$43 for case/cover (coupons or amazon)
$4 for magnetic rings
$32 for 38.7Wh battery that can output the peak W input charging on Switch 2 (which only has a 19.75Wh battery)
$9 for 2mm USB-C cable
$88 for the ultimate travel switch. Throw in a JCally USB-C amp/dac dongle so you can use headphones (10-20$) and you're really gaymen.
See pic related for setup.

The cost to produce hardware has gone up near universally thanks to mega companies hyper-investing in AI. This has reached the point where it has become so impactful that one of the worlds largest producers of RAM has stopped selling to non-corporate audiences because all of their production will be allocated to corporate data centers, and changes like that have resulted in hardware prices increasing, including RAM being 5x what it used to cost a few years ago.

The PS5, Xbox Series and even Steam Deck have all seen price increases because of this, as has the Switch as you said. This is also why a price point is STILL not confirmed for the Steam Machine
>>
>>739908826
That's master race cope sorry to say. PC gamers are at the mercy of part manufacturers who are dropping like flies to cater to big business instead of consumers. Big names like Micron already made it official that they've dropped out, and Nvidia doesn't even bother to report on its gaming sector anymore. It's only a matter of time.
Consoles have the luxury of not being dependent on individual components. Manufacturers will strike up a deal for their parts and it's done. In the current climate those parts will become more expensive and the consumer will see a bump in price for the console as seen, but that's the end of the struggle.
And the grim reality of it all is pc userbase is a dwindling one. Newer generations don't use computers at all anymore, just tablets and phones. Younger generations do all their gaming on consoles and mobile devices, while the pc gaming scene is dwindling down to a shrinking older userbase. What remains of the part industry will see less and less sales until it fades away.

It’s alright, just be warned that Xeno X plays differently from the rest of the series in how it’s an actual open world with much higher freedom of movement (and mechs!) compared to the other games; for example it is the only one of the games that actually has a sprint button
And as a result of the open world, much of the narrative comes through gameplay and exploration and worldbuilding compared to the other games
And playing Xeno X first might make Xeno 1 difficult to get through because X’s battle system is mostly a faster-paced and more fun version of 1’s
>>
>>739909119
It's unrelated to the XC games and is much more open world than the other games.
>im not playing 1 before gets an switch 2 update. that shit still looks too blurry and 30fps
You'll likely be waiting years like everyone else because the XCXDE S2 update was not received well at all.
>>
>>739908517
The money I would pay for their action games, all we have gotten form them in the past years has been nothing but tactical and turn based : ( I want more of their combat goodness.
>>
>>739909568
For me, the 60fps still trumps the drawbacks due to how much smoother it made actually playing the game and moving around feel; and personally when playing in TV mode i never really noticed the drawbacks much
>>
>>739909407
Console gaming literally would not exist without the PC market. Consoles are entirely redundant wastes of compute with dogshit margins as far as these market conditions are concerned. I get that you just want to fanboy, but you better pray for Nintendo's sake that PC does not implode.
>>
>>739909627
I absolutely loved Unicorn Overlord and 13 Sentinels, so while I did love their action games, I'm more than happy to see them experiment more.

That said I would really appreciate Muramasa being ported in particular. It being stuck on Wii and Vita, and the DLC on Vita specifically, is insane.
>>
>>739907868
All I want is the rest of the final fantasy series even if it's the mostly mediocre ones. 13 collection, (real) 15, and 16.
11 is of course out of the question but if ever they want to do an offline one it's welcome.
>>
Deckies got BTFO so badly they went from saying it was more affordable to dropping the "just build a 2K PC bro".
>>
>>739909407
Dude what do you think is in the switch2? Rocks and glue?
>>
>>739909407
>Consoles have the luxury of not being dependent on individual components
What? They are extremely dependent on locked in components. PCs can be slapped together with whatever, but a console has to stick with the same parts its whole life. The only reason consoles haven't gotten completely slammed like the deck did is because they had preexisting contracts and ordered far more upfront, so they could slowly raise the price over time and raise the prices on their other products to offset it. The switch 2 only having 12gb ram and a weak cpu is also helping in comparison to the deck's 16gb.
Not to mention if the pc market implodes, nobody is going to have the compute to make video games, let alone the compute to lock down in a console. You're awfully irreverent to the very thing that's actually used to develop the games you fanboy for. They're certainly not being made on switch 2's.
>>
I'm worried Nintendo's next console will be cloud streaming only via nVidia Geforce Now type service. I digress. Like a retard I pulled the trigger on DQVII Reimagined digital for 25% off. I planned on getting it digital anyway.

As it stands, they're raising the price to $50 in september...and the choose-your-game bundle was tempting. so I have a switch 2 and pokopia, now. Maybe I'll pick up prime 4 for $40 from best buy

It's pretty much a given, it's no-longer-but-still-basically E3 week next week.

State of Play on the 2nd, Summer Games Fest on the 5th. Xbox Show on the 7th. Wouldn't be surprised at a Direct around the 10th.

Im looking forward to play it again after like 20 years. I hold good memory of it nd, yes, it was extra long. But back then it was a perk. I think most criticism comes from completionists because indeed the game has a bit too many collectables. I have never cared ro pickeverything up if there wasnt a good reason for it so i was immune and enjoyed the game just fine. Or at leastthis is my memory. I was just content with reaching the end and i have to say that you can totally tell the game used the expansion pack. People believing that shit story about the expansion pack just fixing some bug is out of their minds. Some og dev already confirmed DK64 used advanced vertex lighting that needed extra memory and you can absolutely tell. Storms and enclosed areas that have torches look extra nice.

Cry harder, steam could go bankrupt and the entire pc market collapse and nintendo wouldn't even notice. The P stands for PERSONAL, btw.

It's more that the deck could emulate sw1 and run all the pc games but that was because the sw1 was extremely underpowered even on release and had a day 1 unpatchable hack.

Since there is no sw2 hack and even if there was one the sw2 specs are 3x higher than switch 1, that drops the value proposition of things like steam deck and pc gaming a lot. Because there likely won't be an emulator for the first time in many decades so everyone will have to buy the console

I'm not expecting this week. Nintendo likes a stage to themselves, they're not going to "compete" with the State of Play or Summer Games Fest.
If there is one this month, it'll be after all the others. Same reason they always had their show last in the E3 days as well.

No, I'm just selective with the games I buy and there's nothing interesting to me on the horizon. Maybe if Nintendo announced a new Xenoblade or Astral Chain I'd be excited, but excuse me if I don't jump for joy at the chance or repurchasing the Lylat Wars for what, the fifth time now?

If you play handheld you need to turn on boost mode in the options menu to make it look decent. Otherwise it'll stretch the low resolution screen and make it look blurry. Unless you care about preserving battery power.

This decision paralyzed me from playing several games I wanted to for like the past couple of years and it makes me angry I ever got like that.
My beefy pc has spoiled me because I know how nice 4k/120fps gaming is, but I also work on a computer 40+ hours a week and I just want to be far away from computers after work. On the other hand the Switch is my dream device because of it being hybrid, but the low res/low fps gaming was off putting to me. Eventually I just kinda forced myself to get used to it and now I game on my switch 2 without even thinking about it.
Of course this will all boil down to what's more important to you. I just like being able to take my games to work or chill in bed or put it up on the big screen.

I bought shadowverse since it was on sale on the eshop
The card art is all over the place. Very funny clash of these highly detailed western style drawing of knights and dragons and skeletons and then there's these little anime girl doodles. Story is retarded tranime nonsense, I wish there was less of it since it's constantly getting in my way and preventing me from playing the card game. The Card Game is fun though, good little hearthstone clone and I like the way you use prebuilt decks instead of being allowed to cheese the game with beaters

Fire Emblem and Splatoon Raiders are day one buys for me. I'm hoping for something good from the Summer direct as well, Pokopia is the only "new" game I've bought so far this year.
