Playing DD2 right now, I was doing an Etna-only run until Pure Flonne showed up, then I decided to allow Etna's girlfriend to join her in battle. Incredible design. It's basically a hyper feminine Etna, my two favourite things combined.As for the run, poison is very hard to deal with because it does % damage, if there's several poison enemies you just can't progress, had to reincarnate at level 14 in the early game to lower Etna's HP so healing items outdid poison damage. But I managed and I'm now in the postgame grinding gain innocents.Also apparently you can steal an item, lose, and you keep the item so you can steal infinite items as long as you don't beat a level which changes on a win. Exploits like these are part of the game's charm so I allowed it.Also wtf is the lollypop item, it heals 50% of your HP each turn and it just showed up randomly held by pirates. That felt like a bigger exploit than all the others combined (Savescumming the capsule machine for infinite money, infinite stealing) and it's an intended mechanic. I only stole it because it looked funny and was wondering what weapon type it was, didn't expect it to be so useful. (stats are garbage)

Pumping and dumping both Etna and Flonne.
D7's okay. A big step up after 6, but it plays it realsafe. Gameplay is basically just Disgaea 5 again, but without Magichange or sub-weapons. Everything else is there. Hell Mode is just Overloads except all of them are buffs like Valvatorez or Flonne had in 5. The Juice Bar came back from 6, but it was unfortunately nerfed so you can't use it to max out class proficiency or weapon mastery. It's still a lot better for distributing bonus stats than Asagi farming in 5 was though.The few new ideas it has are all good ones, but not implemented that well. Jumbification is a pretty shallow mechanic that you'll use as an "end battle" button more than anything strategic. It's nice that enemies will almost always get huge if you do though, so there's a risk factor to it.The Hospital Gacha is great, but Pirilika's Evility makes it so unbalanced that you'll never need to farm Innocents, money, or bonus stats. The second you unlock Secret Recon and Image Change, you've got infinite funds, and can raise as many characters to max level with 10 mil in all stats as you want. This makes the postgame feel incredibly shallow.Item Reincarnation is, in theory, the best new addition to the series since Evilities. You can do some really goofy stuff with it, like turning a fist with Big Bang as an innate skill into an axe, so Etna can equip the axe and use Big Bang with no fist investment at all. But actually getting what you want from it is a massive pain in the ass since it's all completely RNG and you need to run 30 levels in the Item World to roll the dice with no way to refresh your options. I'd love to see them develop it in future games, but right now it's in a sort of "Disgaea 3 Chara World" state.And NISA can suck my fucking dick for holding Complete hostage on the Switch 2. I double-dipped because I'm a total retard, but don't do that. Don't be retarded like me.Still a good game overall, though. If you're a fan of the series it's worth playing. Just not top tier.
