SRB2K is Mario Kart with more speed and tighter design (depending on what mods the server you're on is running), Ring Racers is more like WipEout or F-Zero crossed with a fighting game wearing Mario Kart's skin. If you're the type to like the whole "give the players a huge box of tools that're overwhelming but possible to use to handle any situation" approach you'll like it, but if you want something casual it'll probably just piss you off. They also added a whole singleplayer campaign with a shitton of unlockables.

>>739913250It's less that it has literal fighting game mechanics and more the underlying philosophy that drives the design of fighting games, where you have a ton of tools to use but learning how and when to use them and being able to do so in the heat of the moment is part of the challenge.I don't personally think it's tryhard-tier competitive or anything unless you hop on one of the compfag servers but it's the kind of thing you need to have a certain mentality to enjoy.
