6th Gen was thirty years ago, and 7th gen was 21 years ago. Share us your best or worse memories, man! What was your favorite or most hated game?
>>739900792How out of touch do you have to be to feel like ps2 was 15 years ago?
>>739900792Worst generation in gaming, all the bullshit you see in the industry started with gen 7.
>>739900902my interests haven't changed since I was 10
I think the 360/PS3/Wii/DS/PSP gen was better than the PS2/Gamecube/Dreamcast/Xbox/GBA gen.
>>739901083PSP only had 1 decent game: Peace Walker.
>>739900902It's called being old, one day it will happen to you
>>739901083no it wasn't. You were excited about the graphics, replay those games and you will agree they suck
>>739901513I replay Red Dead Redemption all of the time
>>739901009same honestly
>>739901707oh hey im a PC beggar who played that for the first time recently. cool base game but Undead Nightmare was a waste of my fucking time, slop of the highest caliber, especially the zombies spawning out of thin air when i'm clearing out towns, that is unforgivable.
>>739901284and ghost of sparta
>>739901879I played it once and never touched it again. I only replay the original game.
>>739901009>>739901801Based. Kid me would've still loved all of my favorite games from the last 5 years.
bump
>>739900792>What was your favorite or most hated game?In terms of console exclusives, I've got far more precious memories of Halo 3 than any of the others from that era. I don't really remember "hating" anything, though.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MWItP8wYpZ4I had a ton of fun with the custom games, things like jenga, grifball, etc (no idea how any of that holds up).
>>739901476n-no...
>>739904307going for a speed run eh? Well good luck to ya
>>739900792>favourite gameWii Party>most hated gamesome owls game for the xbox360>good memoriesmostly couch multiplayer experiences like wii party, mp9, wii sports / resort, nsmbwii, lego marvel superheroes, super smash bros brawl. also mario sluggers and strikers when my friend came over>bad memoriesi lived in brazil, so once my dad went to europe he brought home pal smash bros brawl and it didnt work on my wii. later we got the ntsc version so its ok. also getting some wii game that needed the udraw accessory which i didnt have
>>739900978>Worst generation in gaming, all the bullshit you see in the industry started with gen 7.It started there but didn't grow into a full blown cancer until the mid PS4 era. Compared to that and the current era the PS360 era feels like the golden age even though it felt like a downgrade from gens before if you were there.
>>739904656also for bad memories once one of my friends brought a wired third party xbox 360 controller. I played with it. My Xbox 360 was set up in a high place and I let it fall on the ground because I was sitting in some rolling office chair and went back a bit. It broke my Minecraft disc but the console was fine
I still remember going to get my Wii at Toys R Us like it was yesterday.>waking up at 5am to get the very first bus over that way>packing a bunch of snacks and my DS and games>standing in line and chatting with other nerds about vidya stuff in between playing DSshit was fuckin magical
>>739901083based
>>739900902IT WAS A NIGHT LIKE THIS 40 MILLION YEARS AGO
>>739901083Then you're stupid, PS2, Gamecube, Dreamcast, and GBA were the better gen. I somewhat liked the Wii and PS3, but the DS and PSP were the true saviors of 7th gen.
>>739905335>Toys R UsBring it back
>>739900978It started in gen 6 but you're still right, 7 was the worst generation.
>>739901284PSP has a shitload of good JRPG's and games that flew under the radar. If you like japanese video games like i do, the PSP is a goldmine and i recommend anyone who's into jap games, go onto gamefaqs, pull up a list of all the PSP games and sit down and go through and read about its library, you'll be amazed.
7th gen is go-
>>739900978Gen 7 isn't the worst in gaming, we're living in the worst one right now. That said, it definitively marked the end of the "golden age" that gen 3 ushered in, with the exception of gen 7 handhelds. I would call gen 7 more of a silver age pick, it was getting worse but there was still enough residual momentum for there to be some good aspects and great games from it too.
>>739908146-lden
>>739901083based 7th gen appreciatator>>739900792>Share us your best or worse memoriesbest memory is dad bringing home a pc disc of Skyrim with all the DLC, I grinded the shit out of it, surprisingly my dad was never actually into games worse memory? selling two Nintendo DS consoles, a psp, and a ps3 with a bunch of games for all of them for literal pennies when purchasing a ps4, worst financial decision off my life and I will never recover from it (financially and psychologically speaking)>What was your favorite or most hated game?I can't really pick one, all of them were amazing because they were new and fresh for me and I don't recall ever playing a game that I thought was so bad that I would drop it (not to mention how as a kid it's not like you get a lot of games anyway)I don't know it's like a weird mix of PC and console games, with time I leaned more into consoles
>>739908462The Switch saved this gen, the Switch 2 will make next gen and I honestly can't wait for the PS6 handheld. Home consoles and gaming PCs are on their way out.
