I don't think there's a bigger travesty for this series than Nintendo having managed to get Platinum in their heyday, back when Kamiya was still chief game design, and they completely fucked it up because Miyamoto wanted to direct it and Kamiya didn't want to get involved because he knows that Miyamoto is notoriously difficult to work with. I guarantee multiple people at Platinum told Miyamoto that they should include non-motion controls, but he just refused to listen.
