I need some games that makes me contemplate when it's over. There's got to be more I haven't played.

Outer Wilds is probably your best next choice

>>739940853
People from former soviet blocs are always looking for meaning for some reason.

>Bloodborne
Extricate that slop garbage ASAP if you want anyone to take this thread seriously. Soulsbourne garbage is entirely useless goyslop garbage, and unbecoming of anyone's top 10 lists. You have to break the conditioning and stop pretending that in the big '26 anything at all in this garbage franchise is worthy of any respect whatsoever.

Shit list.
Spec ops, LISA
paperclip browser game

Kojima's games have a lot of soviet-mindset writing in them.
I think it's fine. I consider myself a masochist in the sense that I want to live under capitalism, where individualism, hedonism and greed is all, but at the same time we self-criticize and wonder why what we're doing feels so wrong and could be better.
But I don't want to live in actual collectivism, where self-expression becomes outlawed. It's weird. I feel like all these games are an examination of "self". Ultimately it's individuals who make up groups, and in that sense it feels like I've lived through the "ultimate years" of human history or something. But there's still reasons why we're not just happy, and those games all kind of explore why, and it comes down to the impermanence of anything. The fact that everyone will die if not by tragedy, it will be through age, and that unless there's renewal there will be decay.

All 10 games in my list are games I think are just deep enough that I can extract some specific meaning or message from it. I can't say that about most games, even games that are known for storytelling. I can postulate a "moral of the story" on Hotel Dusk: Room 215 for example, and wished I could put it on my list, but ultimately "meaning/message" didn't feel like the big payoff with that game. It was more about the writing being good in showing realistic characters, and learning some sad or interesting stories for the roster throughout the game. But the ones in the list are games where there's an amounted meaning that the games leave you with after you've reached the end.

Games that you can't stop but think on afterwards, "what did it mean?"

Dang, I forgot to put ICO in there, but whatever.

Anon, saying "goyslop" isn't very nice. It's wrong to engage in antisemitic conspiracy theories. You should think about the poor Jewish people you are potentially harming when you say something like this. I know that you can change your ways and become a better person, however. I believe in you! :)

Bloodborne has some really really cool revelatory moments and a sense of there being a "source" that spawned the rest, and that source being more than just some abstract nonsense for once. I'd completely agree with you if you said Elden Ring or Dark Souls, but for Bloodborne I disagree.

To me Bloodborne is fundamentally about civilizational decay, and how science and pursuit of truth/knowledge makes people go from prosperous to insane and ruined.

It's about how someone can't dig deep enough in science before he finds a new delusion of "God", and how the knowledge of truth corrupts primitive minds that are not meant to know how things above our psychological/physiological capabilities operate, and the deeper we dig, the more undone we become as a human, and then society.

It's the best depiction of "Lovecraft" cosmic horror, where no matter how far the player comes with their fight to escape, they only find the "unseen" more and more overwhelmning, and no ending leaves the player as anything less than a victim in a food chain that's much larger than human lives.

I remember being very much into Dark Souls 2 actually. I felt like there was something about memory in that game, about people doing things after forgetting why or how they came to do those things, which is very true issues pertaining to "identity". It was interesting to find out the backstory of the Drangleic King. Wasn't sure it paid off though. The final boss queen thing made it feel a bit generic I guess.

I don't actually hate jewish people, but Soulsbourne slop is 100% worthless goyslop goycattle trash

>science le bad muh mad scientists muh progress le scawwy
Wow, what an epic refreshing, and new perspective. That totally hasn't been done to death 10 million times over in fiction already.
>>
>>739941492
the way I see it it's different answers to desire, with vendrick being total restraint and the queen in turn being total obsession. or with a bit of reach: give up and stop playing this shit game or go crazy trying to make sense of the nonsense. and aldia became obsessed with this dilemma itself giving it a whole another layer.

Persona and Metaphor. You get a hollow feeling as if you're truly saying goodbye to friends and there's pretty much no other game series that gives quite the same feeling.
>>
>>739941878
Originality is overrated. Bloodborne is refreshing in its horrific execution and slow burn of reveals, and how it evokes the reality of being in the aftermath of a great civilization that was ruined because science made people do horrible things and live to see horrible consequences, while also going insane from things you can't unsee.
The idea of science being evil being repeated doesn't make it less poignant.
>>
>>739942126
To me that isn't meaning in itself, and I'd lump that in with Hotel Dusk, like I mentioned earlier. A really really great game with "real" characters, that makes you feel a bit wistful that you're leaving that "reality" behind when the game closes. But I've finished Persona 3 which is supposedly the best and most profound story, and to me it was still a little mid. Some interesting musings about death in it, but idk, I found it very "faux". The lazy way it introduces the most important character in the latter acts of the game, like Kaworu from Evangelion, and the pretentious way it explores dying for... some reason at the end in a theatrical manner rather than something that really gets to me.

Persona 5 I can't stand because the dialogue is generic and repetitive. IMO P5's fan-faggets need to broaden their horizons, because it has genuinely bad writing.

All the soulsslop games are worthless garbage and anyone who likes them deserves to be lined up against the wall and shot
>>
>>739942470
Why don't you play them and stop sucking at them, and agree that they're as good as people who know how to play them say they are?
Why be a sore loser who isn't good at Souls games, just to pretend you know anything about them and complain needlessly?
Let me guess, you're jewish, aren't you?

Jesus fucking christ OP this is like a dude thinking he is deep and philosophical after watching Fight Club.

>>739942905
Why are you trying to suggest that no philosophical or deep art exists in film or games?

It's hard to say what will resonate with someone else like that, but these might be worth looking into:

Nier: Gestalt
Iji
Shadow of the Colossus
Killer 7
Drakengard 3
Blue Reflection
Planescape: Torment

i'm such a meaningpilled contemplationcel currently in my pondering arc

Rabbinical judaism is an anti-human hate group. Their racism level is the same as that of Hitler and nazis.

Why are you defending a racist supremacist hate group? Are you a jewish supremacist? You don't have to be jewish to be a jewish supremacist.

Anon didn't even say anything against the hate group and still you reacted like this. You just butthurt he said goy. Goy is a word the jewish hate group use to demean nonjews. It's exactly like if you, as a white person, got offended by one black man calling another black man the n-word and saying they cant say that because it's antiwhite.

A couple of those I've been meaning to play. Some I have already played. I'm happy I played Nier Gestalt but I'm not sure I liked it. I replayed it recently and I still don't really feel the impact of the multiple endings. I just felt kinda like "great..moving on" when it deletes your save at the end, but I have a feeling that there's something I don't understand about it.

SotC is cool, but I find it to mean less in substance than ICO.

Drakengard 3 I've started but I had to take a break because the upstanding pissing child dragon gave me beastiality vibes.

PS:T I've owned for years but it requires such immense focus. I have a feeling I will really be impressed by it.

I just downloaded a Blue Reflection game on vita (because penis go boom) but I'm not sure which entry that is.

Killer 7 is on my GameCube. Not sure I'll like that one. Never her of Iji, but I have a fan translated horror game on PS1 called "Iru!"
