No, they're not. Prince William was Aircrew was he fucked trained in Jiujitsu.

Bonds origin, orphan, parents were Scottish and Swiss, he spent time at both hence he could speak French and German on top of English which allowed him to be multi-lingual.
He served in the Royal Navy (I'm not sure as role) and then served with the SIS (Secret Intelligence Service) later renamed MI6 (Military Intelligence 6).
He's supposed to have attended Eton for his education.

Those are according to the Novels but the movies have played some artistic licence with certain aspects, as have the games.

>OHMSS is considered the weird and bad one for decades because Bond is UGLY and he got MARRIED
It's considered bad because George Lazenby wasn't an actor, he was a model who only got cast because of his looks, and his performance is wooden and awkward.
>Now unanimously considered one of the best Bond films by literally everyone, every major director who takes influence from Bond says it's among their favorites
Literally the contrarian take of Bond movies. It's a good film, but the Bond performance is awful. The thing that makes it stand out is Bond getting married (which Connery couldn't have pulled off convincingly) and being much more grounded after the Connery Bonds just became comedies, something that the series would only lean more into with Moore. So people like it because it's a somewhat serious early Bond film before Dalton and Craig.
>No Time to Die is basically a spiritual successor to that movie
It's not, they just both take elements from the same story, OHMSS from the story of the same name, and NTTD from You Only Live Twice. So the book YOLT is a direct sequel to OHMSS, but NTTD just takes some story inspirations from it.
>>
>>739947727
Lazenby isn't Sean Connery and he's not trying to be. Sean Connery wouldn't have had any chemistry with Diana Rigg, at least not the character she was portraying in that movie.

I don't know if he was the best, or the worst part of the game. Like, crazy setpieces aside, the game has a very serious and grounded feel for the most part with a very down-to-earth intrigue... and then this muppet shows up and goes all Gustav Graves on Bond's ass.
On the other hand, his actor was clearly having a time of his life chewing the scenery, so at least he was entertaining to watch.

The best part about the story is that they do build up the new Bond to be the type of reckless and impulsive agent and despite him being wet behind the ears he still held high respect for him, even if his harsh behaviour against him was not always warranted. I don't think any of the story beats would have worked even half as well (especially the ones where you visit the apartment before you get ambushed) if the game wasn't a portrayal of the new Double 0 settling into those shoes.

Or then it's like with all IO titles that they just somehow turn the game into a platform to ship more of their game, as the hard part like engine and getting the game out the gate are now over. The question would be in what form would the release most of that? Fairly priced story missions would feel more appropriate instead of attempting some form of free live service shenanigans.

OHMSS was ahead of it's time. It'w not a super polished film, but it has a 4th wall breaking moment right at the opening which was iconic, it changes the starus quo of the character massively and sets up a story arc where Bond would seek revenge in the next film, much like in the books.

While all of that is pretty common and even expected in movies these days, it was very radical for the 60s, as most genre movies and series ran in a serialized, self-contained adventure format where it didn't matter in which order you watched for the most part.

Sadly the producers got cold feet and cut all of that in the next installment. Diamonds Are Forever just "resolves" all that OHMSS set up with a 5 minute joke sequence at the start and goes back to business as usual.

She felt very lackluster for a Bond girl, IMO. The seaweed lady had more chemistry with Bond, but she fucks off after the Vietnam section. The spy girl was so obviously taking Bond for a ride, I couldn't get invested in this character whatsoever.
Also, the two female characters Bond has the most chemistry with are Cressida and Moneypenny, which is both sad and hilarious.

Same. I went into it anticipating a good follow-up. Diamonds is probably the shittiest bond film. Just complete garbage

And yeah, the Dalton movies were another attempt to go back to what OHMSS was trying to do, be actually closer to the books and have actual story continuity. Didn't work a second time, which is a shame since by the 90's a lot of movie franchises were already doing exactly that.

It was only in the 2000s that audiences seemed to be ready for it

I have about 1500 hours on Hitman WoA and I never expected Bond to be anything other than a narrative focused game
It was clear from the very first gameplay that it was gonna be just that, you'd had to be genuinely retarded not to see it
And it's vastly better than Hitman Abortion, because that stealth/action mix actually fits Bond character and movies

Finns don't have a concept of morality or emotion. Living in absolute isolation results in a regression or outright absence of social norms. The little bit of human contact the average Finn gets is intentionally minimized at every possible chance. They avoid eye contact, they always keep 3-10 meters from any human even in crowded areas, they never speak to one another, if for some reason speech between two Finns is required they make sure to turn 45 degrees away from one another to speak and avoid all body language.
They make some of the best knives in the world tho. I visit up north once a year and typically pay their master craftsmen a visit. They will knock off 80% just to get me to stop making eye contact with them. I'm an American with in-laws in northern norway.

ONLY anons who beat the game, rate Gibson's performance and characterization against the movie actors
Brosnan > Connery > Dalton > Gibson > Moore > Craig > Lazenby .
I don't think any of the actors except for Lazenby did a truly bad job, at worst their performances got worse over time, one or two more games might put Gibson at a higher tier

>>739958084
Easily top 5 iterations, just fun and endearing. In general the whole cast did a bang up job overall. People who are dissapointed at the lack of banter have a point, but I expect every game after they will bicker more as Bond keeps breaking and loosing his stuff.

I liked Gibson's performance. I would compare it to Brosnan.
Moore = Connery > Dalton > Brosnan = Gibson > Lazenby > Craig
I want to stress that I don't think any Bond actor is bad and I like (and dislike) parts of all of them.
Lazenby is a poor actor but he looked great and surely would have grown into the part if he had done a second film. Maybe I'm an optimist.
Craig is great in Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace but he really should have checked out after that. However the main issue is that none of his films are really Bond films, but rather Bourne films..
>>
>>739969058
He means when you're vaulting, or using a takedown finisher, or grabbing someone.
Vaulting in particular is extremely fucking abusable, it almost seems like the devs didn't even actually playtest the game because that one in particular seems like something they would have noticed and fixed after a few hours of playtesting.

Also I'm licence to kill M clearly genuinely cares about bond and clearly trusts bond to do the right thing, but much like in. First light his job is to take the flak and dish it, and consistently remind the agent why by all accounts the agent is a fuckup

I honestly was expecting him to get tons of shit for going rogue during the Slovakia mission to the point I was already rolling my eyes when he decides to leave the car park.
It was a really nice surprise that MI6 not only did not blame him for any of the shit that went down in the hotel, they actively supported him by giving him another mission.
It was a nice change of pace not having to go through the stereotypical "Bond fucked up and now has got to make amends" story beats.

I'm gonna be honest, a moviegame type of game is the only way to do 007 right and make it feel like a Bond movie all the way through
So yeah, that means having fairly linear levels Although, it does offer considerably more freedom than other action packed movie games of its kind
IOI weren't given the 007 franchise because of Hitman WoA's intricate, yet sandbox level design with loads of immsim elements and player expression
They were chosen because they nailed that superspy thriller atmosphere in their levels and storytelling in Hitman WoA

It says you can play story mode offline.
I assume the rest is locked to online, but honestly I don't think you're missing much right now.

You have tacsim mode which is similar to Hitman escalations but from the one I played it was just shooting or killing people in different ways. Found it very shallow. First was just killing guys in certain ways, then it was having to do shit like shoot 2 people in each leg, disarm twice, 2 headshots, etc. Then it was just to kill everybody but getting caught added more enemies. I found it boring and haven't touched that mode again.

Haven't tried operations mode, but it looks like it's only 2 missions in story maps.
Unlocks, IIRC, were some clothes, guns, and gun skins, but I could be wrong.

I'm gonna say something really prickish about something that takes a ton of work especially for a 15 hour cinematic action game. Like, I know they won't have a Roger Deakins doing cutscenes or whatever, but man the cutscenes in this are REALLY badly directed. Tons of fades to black and bad cuts, no color grading, the DOF is legit broken and characters are out of focus most of the time, the ending of the game has like bad timing for when the music hits, no grading, etc.The game has some amazing playable bond moments like the Valhalla section or the giant truck with the OHMSS theme, but the cutscenes stink.

I understand M is supposed to overwhelmed in the midst of a political power struggle but she really comes off as incredibly incompetent. MI6 is compromised ethically, politically and physically during the game and at the end she basically goes "no ideia what's going on go investigate 007 lol".

After you beat the game and go back to the tacsim, some of the scientists mention shit about feeding data into it to get the full scope of what happened during the chess tournament incident. They'll probably base DLC on the premise of feeding the tacsim information on past agents' missions that Bond can go through. That way you get to do more than just standalone challenge levels while still doing stuff to drop hints for the sequel and not advancing the story much before the next game.

I quite dislike how squeaky clean Bond is in this. I disagree on the shooting segments. If you take an RE4/RE5 approach to them and shoot people in the leg into the melee follow-up, it becomes fun as fuck. Especially because during the melee takedown you can turn the camera and set-uo the next shot onto a different enemy/barrel, whatever.

>>739981204
Well you do the RE4/5 melee because enemies don't die in one shot to the head. In this, you just shoot them in the head because its the most effective. Having replayed U4/LL within the week 007 came out, I actually prefer the shooting there because the guns aren't nearly as pinpoint accurate to make headshots super clean/easy. The melee in 007 is the best part of it though, and even on Purist Bond can take WAY more bullets than he "should" to make melee viable. You die on Hard in U4 so quick out of cover but as a result feels like more cat and mouse plus the arena designs are better in Uncharted.

My top 3 Bonds are Goldeneye, Nightfire, From Russia with Love, with everything or nothing and first light being just behind.
>>
Honestly I quite disliked Bond as a character in this. Feels like he never actually evolves or develops? He starts as a genuinely good guy and then everyone he loves dies and Greenway goes "don't let it change you" and he actually fucking doesn't let it change him? Like, it's an anti-character arc. He starts and ends as the same guy and it's not very interesting as Bond. I thought it was building up to him becoming colder and doing things for revenge or whatever but he's just the same guy all the way through and it kinda sucks.

Also this is a nitpicking but there is one really cool reference to Casino Royale where Greenway shouts at Bond to stop touching his bloody earpiece and it was a great reference but Bond KEEPS TOUCHING THAT BLOODY EARPIECE UNTIL THE END OF THE GAME

Uncharted 4 also plays better and has way cooler setpieces. Ironically it arguably has even more player agency with all of the movement options you get. In fact I'd say the game fares even worse when compared to Uncharted.
>>
>>739982640
Redditcharted 4 is probably one of the peaks of the old pre-baked techniques. That and TLOU2.
Bond uses a software version of raytracing (for now).
Though I think Bond looks pretty good on PC with RenoDX.

I'm actually really interested in how Naughty Dog does raytracing in Intergalactic. The reveal trailer had some insane shadows and reflections that are probably just unrealistic on base PS5.

Yeah comparing it to Uncharted 4 is not fair. A more proper comparison would be Uncharted 1, in which I think it is better overall.

007 games should be designed like Hitman games. Open sprawling levels with many objectives that you decide on how to accomplish. Hitman is the template for 007, why are all video game developers mentally retarded and refuse to do what is correct?

The version I saw 9 months ago was ugly as fuck and a reason for me not to buy on launch.. I am satisfied with the cuckquean we ended up with. I'm sure the WN types who hated the Craig era black version will hate her too but that's their call.

If this game gets a sequel, she needs to be salty, thirst, and NEVER successful at getting bond, and also have loads of r34 from her model.

I find the IS IT WOKE IS IT NOT fight milldly amusing, as we have some definite modern audience race shit and some definite work safe coomer shit..

This is the most retarded thing I have read on here in a long time. Uncharted 4 is a 10 year old game. Holy shit dude this is some mega-level cope. You think its more fair to compare a $70 AAA 2026 release to a game that is almost 20 fucking years old?

I think her father says part way through the game that she will walk again. Would make no sense for her to go back into secret service but Bond is a fantastical setting so who knows.

This game's plot puts even Brosnan Bond and Moonraker to shame in how ridiculous it is.

OHMSS has some of the worst sound design and cinematography choices, the opening is suppose to be at night and they put a really shitty filter over it.
I don't give a shit what contrarian hipster says Lazenby sucked.
Tracy was great though I liked her more so than other bond girls except plenty o tool but she had massive tits

This, I don't think Craig is a bad actor by any means, but his performance was just brought down a little by the later movies not really feeling that much like bond films in general.

Casino Royale was fantastic though.
>>
>>739990796
Craig was great in Road to Perdition too

The defacto spy fantasy. The appeal is in the exotic locations, hot women, charming cast of characters, fun villains, cool gadgets and action setpieces. The books vary in quality a lot, recent ones suck ass. Movies are mostly good, all the actors are fun but expect heated debates over which is best. Games are really fun and mostly worth playing.

This game seems to have been made for people who grew up Tom Holland's Spider-Man since Bond and Moneypenny are essentially Tom Holland and Zendaya.

>zoomer
Bless your heart, marketer.
But this bond is a total faggot with zero screen presence much like Holland in Uncharted.
It makes no sense to make Bond thins young and even then it is worse than Kingsman.
I can't picture the audience for this game much like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, these games are 20 years too late and feature some of the worst aspects of modern games.
>>
>>739994273
>calling others zoomers when HE is the one who only knows zoomer shit and can only relate anything he sees to zoomer shit because he literally doesn't know anyting else
You aren't fooling anyone with this shit zoomer. The fact that the implication of the image in my head went completely over your head just makes it more obvious. Only a zoomer would be this tone deaf.

Bond is in his mid to late 30s in the books where he's already been with MI6 for some years. It makes sense for the fresh recruit Bond to be in his early 30s. You're just getting old and can't face Bond being younger than you.
