I'd rather they have just added more scenes with Gemma and fleshed out an endgame marriage plot that felt natural, but no, it's some wish fulfillment magic that feels cheap and doesn't portray anything substantial. I hope in the next game they either flesh out a canon romance or do romance options correctly throughout the game.
