Same here, but as long as it's not too extreme, developing your pecs still helps. It's honestly the flared ribs that are worse than anything, but working on your abs can help mitigate that too. If you've never lifted before, just doing pushups and mountain climbers 3 times a week (3 sets to failure each time) will give you results in a few months as long as you're getting enough protein.

Getting there. I went to the doctor a couple of months back for a general checkup, and she told me that I was healthy as a horse aside from needing to lose "a little bit of weight". I was 205 at the time at 5'8", so a bit of a porker.

I started intermittent fasting, substituted NOS with some sugar-free energy drink that tastes like root beer, and bought a minifridge for work, so I wasn't tempted to grab something out of a vending machine, and I just crossed over into 169 two days ago. I'm trying to at least get down to 164, because that's my record low in my adult life straight out of boot camp in my 20s, but I'd be happy if I could get down to 158, because that would probably mark the first time since I was in high school that I couldn't officially be categorized as overweight.

I started climbing last year. I'm doing the oranges and yellows at my gym (3-4/4-5) so V5 semi consistently (that's the start of intermediate) but I notice that technique has only taken me so far and now I gotta lose weight. For a guy it's this simple:

You're not a professional athlete, you're not making weight for a competition. The only thing you need to keep track of is what the scales say. Weigh yourself every single morning naked after taking a shit and piss. If your weekly avg weight is going down, keep doing what you're doing. If it's barely changing, move more and / or eat slightly smaller portions then check the next week.
Your nerd calculations you stress over are just a piece of paper. It doesn't matter how neatly and smartly you're tracking things if the scales aren't changing.

I assume you're a beginner to lifting and are not working out at a gym? Are you skinny as well? Usually very thin people get wrist problems like this when starting lifting.
Honestly it might just be a form problem. Try to limit your wrist movement as much as possible when doing a bicep curl. Do NOT curl your hand when doing the bicep curl, try to focus all of the movement on your elbow axis and bicep. Try that. If no luck, if you have any access to machines or bars try curling in those ways and see if it's less taxing on your wrist. Otherwise you're gonna have to drop the weight on your dumbbells. With the dumbbells you can try doing some wrist curls too. Also, for the bicep curl you could add in some half reps which would take your wrist and forearm out of the equation entirely. Instead of lowering the dumbell all the way to your side to finish the rep just lower it halfway and use your bicep to bring it back up

Whatever you do definitely do not compensate by getting wraps. You're just masking the weak point and it will never get stronger
