where's the 'ick
>>739974642vavle frame price?
>>739974642What are ya? Poor??
>>739974545the fuck is the point of thiscan we please stop trying to make consumer electronics purely because it was in a scifi movie
>>739974642Mid range pcs cost that nowadays
VR is shit because it's basically nothing but a 360 degrees screen glued to your eyes.We need BCI (Brain Computer Interface) and only then would i spend the budget of a car on a helmet.
>>739974545>those micro movements It'd drive me crazy
>paying $3600 to play VR weebshit
>>739975562>for a peripheralYou will eat the bugs.
>>739975632it's a direct upgrade over a flat screen, though possibly not worth needing to put on a hair-fucking helmet on
>>739974545i sure do love SCREENSHAKEALL THE TIMEFOREVER
>>739975763how is it an upgrade for anything other than horror gamesI struggle to imagine what VR could possibly add to the majority of vidya
>>739974545VR is only good for porn
>>739974545How is it none of you have had the thought that having a screen with digital bluelight (known for causing vision AND brain damage) that close to your eyes could be magnitudes worse than anything before it?
>>739975793That guy migh have a condition, that's not normal
>>739975645>those micro movementsYour head isn't still
>>739975793pajeet imagining what its like to use head mounted technology
>>7399765894000$ for Saarmulator(Steam controller not included)
>>739975892How close a light source is to your eyes is orthogonal to the frequency and amplitude of the light waves hitting your eyes. You shouldn't stare at the sun even though it's really far away and you can safely stare into a VR headset because the light it emits is dim.
>>739975562And this is $3500 on top of that.
>>739976475Then it is a design oversight, they could have easily made some kind of dampener
>>739974782Once the frame released, is it gonna be 'ick on frick?
>>739975956That's completely normal shake. Your eyes and brain do a lot of work to remove the shake and sway from the feed you get from eyesight.
>>739976793for your head?
This is racist against people who have shit eyesight.
>>739977018For the projected screen
>>739974545I'd rather play on a regular monitor that doesn't constantly jitter.
>>739977185There's video stabilization for spectators, VR streamers have to seek it out though usually
>>739974545looks bad, why have vr if the game wasn't made for it?
People are going to find out how incompetent apple was at the end of this year. They could've made this but didn't. Soon there will be several glasses to choose from.
>baby roomi thought the whole itoddler thing was a meme, i guess /g/ was right after all
>>739976995bait
>>739977468Basically the displays and lenses are tiny, but apple just shoved the headset full of dumbshit and they didn't move the compute to the puck even though they already had a puck for the battery. Then they had to do meme shit like a curved PCB to make it fit. It got hot which adds cooling weight. Then a lenticular external display. The retardation goes on and on for something that starts as a lightweight device. Then samshit copied them like retards and somehow gave it a quest pro style headband which was notoriously uncomfortable.
>gee my kids birthday party is such a drag, I know I'll play persona 3 instead of spending any time with my offspring Do consoomers really
I see now, gamers are just catching up, they're slow af. gaming is a religion
>>739977724Most people dislike their kids for some reason
>>739977724his kid is 1. His MR videos with his family are still dystopian though. I couldn't even play VR with my dog around while he does nothing but wait for me to return from the fake and gay virtual world. We need headsets for dogs btw
>>739977428Feeling like being inside the game is really cool feeling. It’s really difficult to go back to flat gaming after you have experienced it.
>>739977265The jitter in VR videos is misleading. You don't see it in game.
>>739977428>looks badretarded flat gamer has no clue
>>739974545>watch streamer play vr>feel nauseated by the camera constantly shaking>a shill video still shows that exact camera shake while he's sitting down completely still in some weird creepy roomhow fucking tight does the thing have to be strapped to your head to prevent it lel
>>739975763Literally how? Screens nowadays are large enough to cover pretty much your whole FOV.
>>739974545>Controller isn't even 1:1 with the actionsLMAO, this shit is gonna flop.
>>739978279thats why I equip a chicken and strap it to the chickens head.
>>739975531Ah, but don't you want the Torment Nexus from the cult sci-fi film: "Don't create the Torment Nexus"?
>>739974545why is it shaking>>739974825don't care because i'll pay whatever they want for it
>>739975632>We need BCI (Brain Computer Interface) and only then would i spend the budget of a car on a helmet.I'm only doing that when I can fridge myself like Bartmoss did.
>>739978279I guess you won't notice the shake that much if you wear the visor yourself. Our brain filters that shit, that's why you don't perceive it when you walk or run
>>739978279Streamers need global stabilization for streaming really badly. Right now it's usually on a per game basis and games rarely have a spectator mode in mind.Headset wiggle isn't disorienting for players for the same reason wearing loose ski goggles isn't disorienting. The world is still in the same relative location whether your head is coupled with the headset or not.
>>739978527yes, thats exactly why I filter out camera shake in games instead of turning it off.
>>739978309You can get a giant monitor or TV to do this, you'll need it to be 3D which basically doesn't exist anymore, and you'll need a head tracker and the game will need the correct distortion profile. And the result won't be as good as the quest headset that cost a few hundred.
VR is such a fucking dumb memeActually kill yourself if you think this shit was ever the future of gayming
full dive in 50 years trust the plan
>>739976793>>739977185if you were actually using the device it wouldn't look jittery like that, it would be moving with your own head movements, not with the movements of the guy recording a standard format video you're viewing on your stationary screen
>>739978734Bro i don't have 50 years, speed this shit up

why is he playing with a vibe in his ass>steam controlleroh that explains it
>>739974545>plays a uevr gameOkay? Every other headset can do that>color passthroughQuest 3 has that if you like it so much. I personally don't see the appeal. If I'm playing desktop games I just want to see the game, nothing else.

>>739978875If a camera is attached to your head its guaranteed to shake a little because you aren't keeping it completely still unless you're making a very very conscious effort to do so. Thats why people recording vr or like gopros and stuff usually stabilise the movement externally

I'm waiting for the steam frameI don't like retarded waggle games. I want to play all my normal games in a comfy seated position. I wish more games had VR support. there are mods but they are buggy and not the best performance. some graphical effects don't work at all
>>739983205and?
I'm the most jaded depressed piece of shit on this board, and even I think vr with a high end pc is breathtaking.I borrowed my brothers pimax light for a few months and its immersion to another level, the 3d depth is real and your actually there.Pretty sure people who say its just strapping a screen to your face are to poor to afford a good setup.
>>739974545I would never play a game if I had to do it in (((vr))). What a stupid concept from its inception. I play games for challenge, not for (((immersion))).
>>739983803>pimax crystal light>it isnt light
>>739983905Are you new to vr? Weight dosent play as big a role as balanced and proper comfort mods.He has all the comfort stuff attached to it and its very comfy and I dont notice the weight.
>>739983784I don't play flat games if it's possible to play it like this
>>739984158what did you play
>>739984268Walkabout, ancient dungeon, the fps roguelike one, vr chat, uevr stuff, I will say the dance vr game was hard forgot what it was called.
>>739984246why not?
>>739974545you can do this on the zucc 3 aswell
>>739974782In your ass
>>739983803Ok sure but projecting a flat screen on pass through is not VR, barely AR
>>739984698Stereo 3D is fun
>>739974545>strap a TV to your face for 10x the price!
>>739984158>>739984591The heaviest headsets aren't a problem for some games and the lightest headsets aren't light enough for some games. My quest with the battery strap is over 800 grams. It's not super comfortable facial interface wise, but I was able to play as much blade and sorcery as I wanted. The game that made me realize this is not going to work for me is forefront because two handed weapons that you have at high ready all the time. You are holding two controllers out with one at foregrip distance. This will lever the fuck out of your back over 1-2 hours and it takes dedication after 30 minutes for me. When I tried a reverb G2 years ago as my first VR experience I thought it was pretty comfortable and did not feel as I do now. I also don't like my quest for casual use. If I'm putting it on, I want heavy exercise, light exercise, or vehicle sim. I could never casually play a flat game in it. It's not comfortable enough. Is it the facial interface? I don't know. Either that or heft is the reason I haven't messed with UEVR. Although the weight is even less of an issue when sitting down. It's like my face expects comfort when I'm being comfortable but I got this brick on my head.
>>739985225Uevr sp games require hardly any apm tho
Quest 3 compression is awful to the point a lot of games will looks better on standalone running at poverty resolution that 3k+ per eye on desktop

>>739974545I've said like, for 10+ years that AR always had more potential than VR and that AR would hit it big first. I still think I'm right and that I'm just going to be vindicated further.
>>739983803>The most jaded depressed piece of shitBro you are a fuckin normie, get excited and consume.
>>739988543>AR more potential than VROf breaking into the mainstream, yes, most likely, but in general no way, a virtual reality is infinite, AR is limited to whatever is around you
>>739977724It IS cringe but why would you spend "time with your kid" at his birthday lol he should be playing with other kids
>>739974545>persoyna 3 retardedmoney stolen, LMAO
Oh man i love threads where retards who have never used vr are commenting as if they have. Go buy a quest 3s its cheap as chips connect it to pc via wifi6 and just boot up any game or just a cinema you can walk around in and watch movies (like vrchat). no head jitter isnt a thing for the wearer only retards think so who havent used actual vr besides cardboard phone vr.Also vr is 3d, a normal screen is 2d. There is depth in vr, a monitor has no depth. You cant play tennis in first person on a monitor but you can in vr.Vrlets are like the poorfags still on rx480s and tn monitors with membrane keyboards and ps/2 ball mice.
>>739989949I had a psvr and it was great. I tried a quest and it was the most uncomfortable piece of shit I've ever worn.
>>739974545Cool novelty for a week, just like VR.
>>739974642lol, you are brown
>>739974639Does Persona fandom have a pedo problem?
>>739974545so what does the device actually look like you fucking niggerno your stupid ass cgi video is not indicative of anything you fucking retard faggot
>>739989949>head jitter isn't a thingNo, maybe you don't notice it, but it literally is a thing.
>>739975632>I have fucked up eyes and brainsI don't think the BCI could fix that either.
>>739990369No retard. Hand jitter is the only thing youll see in vr
>>739990572Had the entire thread trying to explain why the jitter happens and then you come trying to deny it and without any proof or argument just "nuh uh".
>>739974545>is irrelevant for people with glasses
>>739990369>head jitter is a thingNo it's not.there's something wrong with your VR headset, or if you're playing PCVR on your Quest, it's mostly the Wifi that causes the lag=what you feel like a jitter.
>that fucking headshake in the endUntil stabilization gets a LOT better this stuff is doa.
>>739991158I have used my Quest 3 with glasses on for two years and I haven’t got any problems with them. You can adjust how near the screens are so most glasses fit easily.
>>739983803>I'm the most jaded depressed piece of shit on this board,>and I'm still a mindless consumeryeah there's a correlation there.
>>739977839I worked in a hospital and sometimes parents paid $3,000 USD to get his son's testicles to drop.Children are a waste of money, and imagine how mouch money are in school, sports, food, etc
>>739980598NTA, but 99% sure the vr headset users don't notice those jitters in the first place, at least consciously. They contribute to motion sickness, but i don't remember anyone writing about jitter being an issue, or even mentioning it as something that happens.
>>739992428Yeah, I imagined it'd be something soulless like that, one would imagine a Christian country would value something as precious as their own children but it's always just about the money.
>>739974545what is this? is it just using ultrawide? or was is ported to vision pro specifically?
>>739993831It's just a VR mod running on Virtual Desktop(or whatever app) made for Vision Pro so you can play PCVR on it.Basically every Quest3 or Quest3S can do the same thing.
>>739977030>Implying they won't have prescription ones
>>739991061>Had the whole entire thread explaining why a jitter is not an actual thing and still doesn't understand.Where do these fucking retards even come from...
>>739989468Both are finite and AR is less limited than VR in some ways. In VR you can't drink that beverage, sit in that chair, you walk through the walls, your natural locomotion through the environment is limited to what you can do in a confined floor space, and you're limited to controllers or your hands. AR is a different exercise where you bring virtual things into your space, where you can physically interact with what's really there, and everything real can be an interface device and not just a controller. So for example in AR I can pick up a real tennis racket and hit a virtual ball instead of picking up a virtual tennis racket. Or I can throw a real ball at virtual targets.
>>739989949saars please delete this. this is a very serius izzat matter
>VR
>>739980598If we stuck a gopro on your head without stabilization it would look like you had parkinsons
>>739993207yeah there's no jitter to notice, like you see when spectating VRWhen a human moves their head (try it yourself) they don't get sick even though that movement is unpleasant to spectateWhen the headset shifts shakes or swings on the head the user also doesn't get sick because through the lenses the world is still in a consistent orientation. It's like if you had a gopro attached to ski goggles and wiggled the goggles. It makes no difference to the wearer what cancer and aids the gopro is viewing. Now you can get stuttering/judder when the game can't keep a consistent framerate or your wireless network quality is poor. But that's not what people are seeing in typical VR webms.
I actually believe AR would be the future once someone figured out how to mass produce those reflect glasses so it doesn't cost $1000 each. The way Apple and Meta is trying to do is really not safe for using outdoors, and the Hololens style(Transparent glasses with "reflect scope" implementation should be the only way due to safety protocols in any country with strict rules.
>>739996797>The way Apple and Meta is trying to do is really not safe for using outdoors, and the Hololens style(Transparent glasses with "reflect scope" implementation should be the only way due to safety protocols in any country with strict rules. What are you talking about
>>739996797No one wants a screen literally in their eyes while outside. VR is fine as an at home experience.
>>739976920Ick on eck fatso will be dead from diabetes by the time hardware prices have gotten sane enough for the frame to actually come out
>>739996954We have meta glasses with a hud that are useful right now, they just suck because its monocular and they are still too fresh to do much. But having instant streaming information at a glance is a huge bandwidth difference than pulling out your phone. The only downside is well privacy apocalypse
>>739997238Only thing people would use it for would be navigation assistance or for work if it could be applied. As a consumer electronic I can't see people voluntarily strapping it to their face just to watch TV or something when a phone already exists. So I can see the work force using it but on the consumer level I don't really know what people would want it for beyond a heads up display for navigation which a phone can also do well enough.
>>739997295you can have instant encyclopedic information of everything you look at, you can interrogate AI about what you are looking at, you can see subtitles for foreign language speakers. It can get fucked up too. It can tell you what to say to be a master of conversation. Everything that's too slow to look at a screen and touch it with your thumb is now real time
>>739997238>Lowering the attention span of zoomoids even moreI fear to see where we will be in another 30 years. People exploding in anger because something took 3 seconds to do rather than 1.
