A trailer that opens with a FPS perspective and it showcases first and foremost the new mechanics that are entirely new and confounding to the viewer and the trailer keeps moving and showing more and as it shows more, HL-esque music starts to be piped in and maybe one of the sound effects is faintly heard and grows louder until a headcrab or whatever recognizable thing from HL appears and the trailer cuts to HL3 being given as the name.Perhaps Shepherd could be the POV and is initially seen as a generic soldier until it is revealed at the end it is indeed Shepherd.
