In terms of story it's definitely not the best, but I have the most fun actually playing through the game and another unpopular opinion, I actually like the settlement building.I have no opinions on 76, I heard it was broken on release and never actually bought it. I'm thinking of buying it when it goes on sale though, I didn't hear most of the heavy bugs where somewhat fixed so at least it's actually playable?
Oblivion has the worst lore and worldbuilding of any Bethesda game including FO76 and Starfield.

>>739982818>so at least it's actually playableits playable, as in you can log in and play it and it usually doesnt shit itself that often. in practice its like if they frankensteined 4 into a grindy, annoying mmo. its still buggy, the writing is still dogshit, the lore is fanfiction tier that makes 4 look restrained, and its blatantly about selling you microtransactions while the most insufferable bethesda fanboys act obnoxiously around you during public eventsin that sense its basically just ESO but for falloutthere are a few things that i do like about it but its not a good game1. you can put a settlement down basically anywhere2. there is a freecam in the settlement and more controls to make building easier3. the map looks visually pretty good, and even though its buggy as shit and looks like poop most of the time, sometimes the lighting just works making it look magical until a bug breaks the immersiona big problem is that there is almost no content in the game. once you're finished with the main story from the base game TEN YEARS AGO everything sort of grinds to a halt and there are a handful of new, short questlines you can do but thats basically it for the game besides the grinds that arent interesting or are blatantly padding (do your daily quests for tickets to reach the shitty cosmetics in the free part of the battlepass, fish for this month's axolotl, etc)

I think the map is actually pretty great & has some really really REALLY cool locations/lore, but most of the meat of it gameplay & power level wise is through multiplayer elements. Fortunately the "multiplayer" is very background, you can opt out of almost anything if you don't want to do it.The downside is, it's absolutely a battlepass game and you'll be running around in ugly default armor/items/outfits/settlement items & have a lesser-quality game experience unless you open your wallet.
