absolutely not
so many shit mechanics and tiny little oversights, too long to list, that will make you fucking seethe
play outpath instead
>>
>>739986439
My son dropped it after the first area, so likely not

Yeah im looking for switch games that my 9 year old would enjoy for his birthday that arent too difficult. Gonna get Castle Crashers to play together and thought forager looked ok. Just discovered Lego Worlds which might be something he would dig.
>>
Videogames are for autistic people so any game would do.
>>
>>739989375
You have a point but im looking for quality over quantity. Most of the games on the nintendo eshop is mobile tier slop.
>>
>>739987101
Oh god my unironic autist brother wants to play Forager, can you name the most shitty examples and hopefully defuse him from playing it.
>>
I think im just gonna go with terraria and castle crashers. Warhammer mechanicus is also on sale i see..
>>
>>739990142
okay i can list a few
>you can spend a skill point on a chicken pet that does literally nothing and you just waste that skill point for no reason
>filler perks that nobody gives a shit about that are constantly in the way of actually good perks you want
>you can go a long while in the game having not researched a crucial skill because you didn't know what you were missing out on
>game over doesn't matter because you insta respawn with nothing lost and the combat is MEGA shit anyways
>if you try to build a cool moat/raft out in the ocean, you will eventually have to buy the island slot it is in and then your cool build is destroyed after the island spawns on top
>two block tall trees don't fade out if you are behind them, doesn't sound like much but you are harvesting shit behind trees all the time
>dev is a retard and is involved in staff abuse and other shit
the biggest offense and the tell to me that the dev doesn't play video games is that there was a sacrificial altar i encountered, which offered me temporary resource gain in exchange for permanent max health. that is bad enough, but i also couldn't back out of the menu, so i was forced to have my health bar raped for nothing.
genuinely just let your brother play outpath instead, ive shilled it already but it really is that big of an upgrade over whatever forager was trying to do, and doesn't waste time with awful fucking combat either.

NTA and I only played Forager when it first came out, but I'll give Outpath a buy since it's on sale
>>
>>739986439
It's a really short game
>>
>>739991113
Got any other autismal games you could recommend or do you happen to be a specific shill for outpath?

not in particular. im not much of a believer in games being inherently autistic or 'for autistic people.' in reality you can develop a special interest in any game ever made. you can call it a copout answer but it is at least partially true, there are spergs that live and breathe through minecraft or hollow knight or fallout or any other game you can think of. im sure many anons on this board have a game that they are obsessed with for reasons beyond good gameplay/story/themes that wouldn't really be seen as weird and/or spergy by most people.
if i had to name the most autistic game i have ever played anyways then i would pick cube chaos. shit graphics but ridiculously deep gameplay hidden underneath the surface is the #1 classic sign of a truly autistic game.

>>739986439
it's a good game for manbaby autists. And I don't mean that lightly, I mean actual age regress autists. But you'd think it'd be a game for factorio autists based on the cover art
>>
>>739991113
Outpath looks kinda just bad imo. I like the 2d artstyle of forager more. Plus it’s like 3$ on sale.
>>
>>739993367
I was joking really. Just looking for some cheap but not totally shit games for my
kid that likes minecraft.

This, all of this.
The skill tree in this game is worse than any I've ever seen; it actively punishes you for not looking up stuff ahead of time because of how little info it gives you when the skills range from "near useless" to "flat-out required to make progress in the game".
>>
>>739995738
I was researching the game on youtube and found this out from a comment in under a minute. Dont most people look up stuff in games nowadays anyway? I get the criticism but knowing that a lot of perks arent necessarily useful for progression should be easy to avoid once you know that fact. Not defending the game but I see a lot of hate for “wikis” on this forum and I dont get it…

Forager? But I barely knew her!
>>
I used to play Wayward. A very outdated free online version is still active, it seems.

Is it gonna give him nightmares or something?
>>
What about this? Very cheap and seems comfy.
>>
>>739998312
My buddy played it, it's a decent 5 or so hours. Has some fun stuff but it's straightforward and short, especially relative to the farming/crafting sims people are chatting about.
>>
>>739998312
>pick up 3000 books
It's busywork.
>>
>>739986439
It's fine for a few hours.
It's like cookie clicker if you had a world to work and move around in instead of just menus, with a clear end point and nothing to do afterward.
