I think RE9 being shit for 80% of it's run time sorta broke Leon fans.They're so desperate to insist it's good and everyone else got filtered, just so they don't have to acknowledge that it all goes to shit as soon as Grace goes into the basement and Leon starts getting more screentime.

They sent funds to Marcus, so in a way they're behind RE0, they authorized RC's destruction (Which's yet another retcon of who did that), and they got the president killed (Explicitly something the Family had done), on top of them being directly behind RE7, and they have heavy connections with Miranda. HCF and Tricel as well. Umbrella was encompassing of the franchise, but they had a scope, a limit. Connections is behind everything, and that just makes the world smaller.

Zeno should not have just been Temu Wesker and they should have played up some kind of low level psychic ability which would reinforce his desire to secure Elpis to strengthen it. Instead of, "I didn't hit any of her vitals," it should have been, "You've seen how tough people transformed by the T-Virus are, there's a chance, and now we have Elpis." Grace opening the Elpis vault should have involved a gene and biometric code (emphasizing why she needs to be alive) along with a password, which would have left open questions about Grace's origin. The Connections should have been retooled into a group formed from the dissolution of Umbrella or one of its rival companies instead of the La Li Lu Le Lo controlling everything behind the scenes. Cut out the introductory street scene with Leon and just have Sherry let him know about Gideon, like she does, and have Leon go straight to the care center.The biggest sins are really gameplay wise. The hotel and orphanage sections should have been either been cut completely, made into short 2 or 3 minute cut scenes, or had some actual gameplay.Racoon City should have more bizarre mutations running about because of the T and G viruses. Move getting the detonator to being after the RPD and trying to get to and into ARK through something that needs exploding. The motorcycle bit, if they just have to have it, should be short and immediately after the spider fight. Gideon should have had an actual boss fight after the motorcycle ride; could have had Leon kick him off the highway and dump his motorcycle on top him to blow up if they absolutely wanted that. Get rid of the shitty credits system and just have small caches of arms and ammo; make the various firearm enhancements items that are actually found in the environment like for the pistol compensator and the rifle's silver scope.The entire Ark needs to be redone/expanded upon for each character.
