If they're not going to let us kill anything, they'd better add mechanical and biological means to deter the hostile animals so we're not getting our asses chewed on the entire game. It's not fun playing the game when the nibblers swarm you in packs of eight draining your health like a keg at a frat party and the marrowfuckers are in every single important location and attack every ten seconds preventing you from accomplishing anything.
They're going to make everything kill you in one hit when the full version releases. Bet on it.

When I think of "scary" ocean predators, I imagine a fast moving underwater missiles with teeth that lurks in the darkness and can detect you from miles away. But threats in these games are just floating npcs that attack you when you're like 5-10 meters in range. They even glow to make sure you see them.

>>739988486Making the sharks and leviathans immortal is one thing, killing them wasn't really worth the time in the first game anyway, but making all the shitty little small fish immortal is so stupid. I mean making anything unable to be killed does ruin the verisimilitude and immersion somewhat but it's going to be way more noticeable with these shitty little buggers that constantly chunk you. Honestly they were even really annoying in the first game since even the upgraded knife couldn't one shot them, and they are so unrealistically aggressive hitting them once made them swim away for only about 10 seconds.
