this game was supposed to be EVE in 3rd person, but I feel like they made this impossible a long time ago
they made all their money from selling ships which are digital assets that legally always need to be accessible for as long as the game company doesn't go bankrupt
basically, invincible ships who can always respawn while in EVE you pay money not to buy ships but to buy in-game currency used to buy ships. It may sound like just a technicality, but it allows for the actual destruction of ships and the creation of a world that actually has stakes and a meaningful economy. Cloud Imperium Games basically painted themselves in a corner with their business model, stuck with thousands of ships that can never be fully destroyed. Is this game even fixable, or is this whole thing will end up collapsing on its own weight?
I should mention that I have very little experience in both games, this is just my outside perspective
>>
My only experience with this is laughing at people that bought it and admiring a few of the admittedly neat ship designs. That's it, really.

That game is waaaaaaaaay too glitchy to have permanent ship loss. Imagine spending 500+ dollars on a ship only for your hangar bay to glitch out and explode your ship.
>>
I enjoy the game, just not this patch at all, I haven't given them any money in well over 6 years and they have.changed the game immensely from what they promised originally.
Also the developers clearly never play the game they are making or have any idea of what fun means.

the performance on the past 2-3 free flys have been so bad, it actually ran well for me on the free flys before that

i got like 40fps on the lowest settings on the last free fly, how did they fuck the performance up so much?

It's not like it matters. At this point, they could literally take everyone's ships away, replace them with flaming paperbags filled with dogshit, and start selling all the ships they took again, and Star Citizens.tm would still buy them all up.
99% of the uncaptured are long gone. The only backers left are mindbroken cultists.

Keep buying the spaceship NFT's you cucks, the devs need another fancy office with w expensive coffee maker lol

That's the only way to really engage with the game at this point. This shit was supposed to come out 15 years ago and it would've been a better more polished game for it.
