I think Chris Claremont, a kibbutzing Jew who is the guy most likely responsible for most of what the general public thinks of when they think of X-Men characterizations, wrote Wolverine with a very Jewish sense of morality. So what Logan hates in those two men is that they feel neither remorse nor any compulsion to try to be better. This trait in Logan has reminded me of what I perceive as one of the most important throughlines in Judaism, no one keeps all the mitzvot, and what they don't keep today they can only try to do tomorrow.While I was thinking about Logan being written by a Jewish writer as someone down on himself for being a bad man, but also someone who is constantly trying to be a better man tomorrow, I came upon a question of halacha.
