By making it so Nerevar is reincarnated is, to a degree, saving him, or at least saving his will from never being enacted again. The Daedric Princes are also not corporeal beings, so to Azura, Nerevar in another body is still effectively Nerevar, thus she still is saving him in a literal sense. And saving him his still ultimately an act of vanity, since she is doing so with her own gain in mind.

I was trrying to come up with a backstory for them and realized I didn't know anything about their history or culture, so I looked more into the lore of Elsweyr, now I know a decent bit of that, which puts other things you see in the game or hear about in the lore into perspective and it all feels a bit more dynamic.
