They can't influence theoretical people. They're martyring themselves to a life with "shame" so that others don't do what they did.It's all bullshit but it's a larp they have to hold up to justify themselves. Everyone knows that at a certain point in a just world, a person just forfeits their life. I don't have a problem with the "monster reforms and feels the need to warn others away from his path" archetype because it's almost always an entertaining character, but young kratos' violence is almost slapstick and stuff like old kratos somberly remembering that time he killed the gag character who exists to be killed by kratos for no reason feels borderline comedic
The idea that he can change is ridiculous. He doubles down on the slaughter and anger anytime he has a chance to change everytime.
