Special Angels like Ramiel will have different smaller levels like for him you will get a cover shooter area where you shoot him with a sniper. Progress in different areas of your mind will lead you to improve in combat and raise you ability.

EVA repair simulator. you have to put the robot back together after missions, which are given in cutscenes. fps, real scale EVAs. This includes driving carts of supplies around the facility, doing various fetch quests to fix not EVAs, and so on. Last mission is to escape from NERV in the EoE assault, having mastered all the tricks of the trade and knowing the facility layout and shortcuts. Secret endings are to smuggle out your choice of waifu/husbando in the process.
