If you see someone getting beaten up and decide to do nothing, you aren't much better. Not as bad as the one beating up that person but basically normalizing it.
Seeing that and realizing that the lack of action you took was a mistake and growing from it would be one thing, but encouraging others on that inaction to make yourself feel better is actually very, VERY bad.
It's not only that you are saying that doing nothing is the "mature thing" to do, but even trying to paint that no group has done anything about anything. Its like you are afraid that the kids these days almost might get something done that you are afraid of. Even worse, you refuse to do anything yourself because...?
I see old people taking part in protests, but you somehow see that as unnecessary thing?

Just something for you to think over. Not judging too much even when the tone is bit harsher, but rather that fear, stress, and learned inactivity can poison one's mind and start defending that attitude. Don't sink in nihilism. It can be fun, but at least try and be bit positive and encourage people to try and change the world even if you feel incapable of doing it. I played a lot of videogames back then, i still play a lot of videogames today, and i can say with confidence that after you play modern stuff and get used to it's quality of life and stuff, you have a hard time going back to play the classics.
