Shadow of the Colossus had an open world 20 years ago and Dynasty Warriors had interconnected zones without loading screens years before that. >>740085919I kind of stopped caring when I saw the lack of polish on basic view model elements animations etc. Expectations aren’t that high there was never a need for open world or realtime lighting cycle but gameplay being unpolished is unforgivable. Game devs have found ways to fake all this stuff for years and yet even with all the actual implementation it looks worse than mobile games.

>>740048871I actually bought 4 since I haven't played a single game since 2. Mechanically speaking it's very good and the gameplay is much more fast paced with fun character builds. I think it failed for two reasons: people are just done with Borderlands especially since PoE2 and D4 have the loot grinder genre on lockdown and it was one of the most unoptimized UE5 pieces of trash I have ever played. My 4070 was bugging out at times even.
