Silksong has miles better controls, gamefeel, boss design, and artstyle. However, I got burned out on it near the end and never bothered with Act 3.

Mina is more fun to traverse through and reminds me of a nice blend of Souls and Zelda exploration, that you don't really get with Silksong.

Silksong Act 1 >>> Mina >> Silksong Act 2
>>
None. But Shitsong if I really have to pick one.

these 2 have the same problem and the same solution. Very hard at the start, filtered the casuals, gets super easy after 75% completion.
but you already know which one has better sold copies

Nobody here has finished Mina, so no one is going to have an answer of value for that.

Silksong is most definitely harder late-game than early game. The brief difficulty spike in Hunter's March doesn't change that.

Mina has much better sense of progression. It has that sense of power gain like a metroidvania and you get a lot of upgrades and powerups and you can approach things in any order so generally the later stuff will all be easier. Honestly the game spikes at the very first dungeon .

Human men exist in Mina and they look like they could overpower and mating press her like it's nothing so Mina's game wins
>>
>>740050925
I had an idea in my head of what Silksong was going to be after years of hype and was left disappointed with the final product. I had no such expectations for Mina the Hollower and was left satisfied with my experience, so I’ll give it to the latter.

>>

Maybe it was because I was still rusty, but I definitely had more issues in act 1 between beastfly 1, moorwing and the last judge
Once I got more hp, silk and parry the game got much easier since I can take more hits, have enough silk to heal and use silk skills, and press parry as crutch if I fucked up positioning
>>
>>740053043
That's definitely a you thing man, Karmelita and Lost Lace are by far harder than anything else in the game even with all the tools and upgrades.
>>
>>740053043
>>740053239
I think it has more to do with how much HK you played prior to silksong. I played the original a lot and had a much harder time with act 1 than anything else because adjusting to the games style of combat was weird for me. By the time I got to Lost Sinner, Carmelita, and Trobbio II I one shotted them

I havent even finished mina's game and it mogs silksong. im actually enjoying the trinkets I find and the main weapons are more satisfying.
it took team cherry like 8 years to come up with the same few core upgrades, thats garbage. nobody likes a gimped shinespark thats just worse than samus's

Mina.
Silksong has an infuriatingly shit finale that sours the whole game unlike Mina

Silksong mogs Mina so hard it's not even fucking funny, Mina is fun but it's super mega rushed
>hitboxes are absolute garbage
>difficulty nosedives after your first dungeon, you can facetank abosses and get away with it
>almost zero permanent upgrades other than stat ones and improving your bonfire a bit
>castlevania subweapons but you need specifc ones to solve "puzzles"
>atrocious trinket system where a handful are ridiculously OP and the rest are complete memeshit that you will never use instead of permanent upgrades, somehow even worse than Silksong's gear system
>wildly unbalanced subweapon system where finding new ones doesn't even feel good since most of them suck and you get the best ones 1 hour into the game
>most secrets in the game are just money, actual rewards are just bought with it, ruining any sense of finding cool secrets beyond the super rare weapon upgrades
>zero memorable NPCs other than the rival and Lionel, not a single character has the presence the Shovel Knight characters had
>map system is incredibly lazy
It will likely be my GOTY, but Mina had the chance to be beyond incredible if they hadn't fucked it up, what a shame.
>>
>>740051107
Act 3 makes you feel like you didn't upgrade any of your shit at all

Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo

Silksong is better on paper, feels better, and bossfights are definitely better, but the complete lack of progression, the obnoxiously stingy currency system, and the overly bloated map with obnoxious traversal (still a huge improvement over HK) put Mina overall higher for me.

Silksong would be a far better game if it was more condensed and the devs edited/cut more instead of just shoving every idea they ever had into the game.

Silksong has infinitely better mechanics, it set a new bar for its genre as far as I'm concerned.
Buuut Mina has great pacing and a great map. You know how good at encounters and unique area landmarks you need to be to straight up not need an ingame map in an overhead 2D game?
Silksong's map is fine, I guess, but the pacing is an absolute bloated sagging fucking mess.

So still Silksong because it's much more fun but like I get it if people choose Mina.
>>
Silksong was fine but nothing spectacular. I haven't gotten around to it yet but I'm hoping Mina is better

Silksong.
But Mina's pretty great, solid 8/10.
>>
>>740051012
it's so much better than Zelda exploration because you get good loot instead of 20 rupees when you're already at 999
>>
>>740053904
I have 112%'d HK three times, completed every pantheon, done all bosses radiant, beaten steel soul 100%, delivered the delicate flower to every possible recipient, and even gotten the gold Zote statue. Act 3 is so much harder than Act 1 by sole virtue of everything hitting for 3. Enraged Conchfly and fucking Nyleth gave me more trouble than anything else in SS
>>
>>740057395
In my case I played HK first. Never got 112. But I've 100% silksong multiple times. Silksong just feels better for me to play. I prefer Hornet's movement even if I think Hallownest is better designed
>>
>>740056396
>Silksong has infinitely better mechanics, it set a new bar for its genre

Neither Hollow Knight nor Silksong does anything revolutionary or genre-defining. They're just good games of the genre that aren't even the best.
>>
>>740057651
Hollow Knight doesn't do anything. Silksong's movement and rapid-fire grappling is pretty fantastic. Metroidvanias, hell most 2D platformers control like shit and a character controller that can dart around organic terrain snappily is good movement.

Mina
>>
>>740058336
i think i'm close to beating Mina and unless there's enough replay value or DLC i don't think i'd put it above Hollow Knight
but the fact these 3 games exist is based
>>
>>740057395
>3 times
You are like a little babby to me. Im not trying to say the act 1 bosses are harder than act 3s, just saying I understand why someone could feel that way on a first playthrough
>>740057610
SS is the better game and I think more people will come to recognize that the longer we drift from the release hype.
>>
>>740058336
Man hk really aged badly but at release it was so fun. I miss 2017
>>
>>740058336
>Silksong and Hollow Knight both rated 100 by actual players
>Mina doesn't even have have enough players to have 20 ratings
Genuinely hilarious image.
>>
>>740058439
Hollow Knight is fucking trash, but it gave us Silksong so I guess there's that.
>>
>>740058995
Idk how opencritic's player rating system works, but the user reviews average out to 93% but for some reason it gives it 100 on the main page.
>>
>donate to blm
