Am I wrong to feel like Insomniac stayed truer to their PS1 era than Naughty Dog did? Like both PS1 Crash and Spyro were surprisingly well crafted cartoony worlds with irreverent humor, devs having fun animating big boobs manually, and jokes both devs would be pathetic and ashamed of today (Crash and all the tribal stuff in general, Bombo and the Lara Croft mouse, etc), but on the PS2 Jak kinda felt like it didn't know what the hell to do even from the start while R&C kept that same sense of humor going strong and wasn't afraid of robot pin-up girls or the lowest of low-brow humor.
