Be OCD.
But really just route anything that can go behind the motherboard actually behind the motherboard. Visible lose cables just look bad.
If you're REALLY autistic get cable extenders and the extra slack lets you manage them much easier.

Fuck it, might as well ask here. I got a second fan for the front of my case but I guess it was a reverse(?) one or something, as when I went to install it I realized it'd basically look like pic related.

I only have a steam deck
Should I get a real computer
I really want one but it's too expensive and hard to decide on anything...

Brother, just play on your fuckin Steam weenie.
>>
>>740129558
You can make a DDR4 build for like 600$.
500$ if you're willing to live with a 1080Ti, which is the same as a RTX 5050.
>>
>>740129568
On a more serious note, Crimson Desert and Cyberpunk.
>>
>>740129708
>Crimson Desert
I did get a free copy of Crimson Desert when I bought my 9850X3D. I really should install it.
>>
>>740129667
If you build a new PC in 2026 and don't get anything besides an R7 7800X3D and a GPU with at least 16GB VRAM, then you will be sorely disappointed with the results. Don't even fucking bother if you can't make a rig that meets those bottom-line criteria.
>>
>>740097038
Very similar build to mine except for the mobo+cpu (and brands)
Ive yet to have any issues running anything
I went a little crazy on the mobo and cpu for future proofing and glad I did my build before everything got crazy.
Also got my 5070Ti for $750 (tax included) because of Walmart sale for $699
>>
>>740129795
Nvidia was on crack when they made the 1080Ti
It can play all modern games in 1080p with no issue. Sure, it's 11GB of VRAM, but it's enough for 1080p.

What CPU did you get? Ryzen 9?
>>
>>740096981
>>740097038
my build is similar but i cheaped out on cooling. really wish i didn't because i've turned off CPU boosting almost entirely from how much the jet engine bothers me.

You mean the shop you paid to assemble it finished the box.

>RAM - Kingston FURY Beast 32GB DDR5 CL36 ($100)
Very poorly thought out bait
>>
>>740130080
No, I actually built it myself. First time.
And it's caused a bit of a problem. Because I really had fun doing it. And I want to build more PCs. But it's impossible to make a profit flipping PCs right now, so the hobby is dead.
>>
>>740098873
Run them BEHIND the mobo/back panel like THEY ARE INTENDED.
>>
>>740129708
>>740129791
Wait till August for DLSS RR 4.5, unless you really need to play those games now.
>>
>>740130136
That was a normal price for 32GB back in 2025.
>>
>>740130219
Did Crimson Desert shit the bed with optimization? Does it need a lot of hand holding from AI upscaling?
>>
>>740129791
Do it! It's probably the best open world fantasy game ever made, and if you hate it, then you are subhuman goycattle or worse yet, a journo.
>>
>>740130224
He means the CL36.
>>
>>740097038
Why a 5070ti and not any AMD GPU? Are you running local models?
>>
>>740130264
No. I can play it 1080p low with cinematic textures just fine, so I don't know why he would have any problems.
>>
>>740130264
>Did Crimson Desert shit the bed with optimization?
No.
>Does it need a lot of hand holding from AI upscaling?
Obviously yes.
RR (ray reconstruction) is the most important setting, so you might as well wait for an improved model.
>>
>>740130306
The difference between CL36 and CL30 on DDR5 with a 9850X3D is less than 1%. The X3D cache is black magic.
>>
>>740130368
>On a 6600 XT.
>>

But what about the warm feeling of having CL30?
>>

>What should I play?
Play those games that you like but you never managed to max out it's graphics.
>>
>>740130449
I'd rather have the warm feeling of $500 more in my pocket.
>>
>>740130530
I guess it makes sense in America where you gave no social safety nets and one small injury or an unfortunate meeting with a crazy hobo or a black etc. can financially ruin you.

It has nothing to do with any "mobo meta", whatever that is. GPU sag is manufacturing oversight. FE GPUs don't sag despite being the heaviest. Why? Because the full metal enclosure means the weight of the oversized heatsink isn't entirely placed on the PCB. Aftermarket GPUs don't really give a shit and just glue the brick onto the PCB, cover it in some shitty plastic and hope for the best.

I still consider Japan the best bet for the future.

PC Gaymers.

What games do you play with a controller, and which do you play with mouse + keyboard?

FPS games seems much better with a mouse.
But hack and slash games feel better with a controler.
>>
>>740132192
>I still consider Japan the best bet for the future.
It probably is. But pretending there aren't good places in America still is really silly.
>>
>>740096981
>no RBGay shit and flashy nonsense
Nice.
I will never understand why autistic flashing colorful lights is the "gamer" marketing strategy.

Not to mention how you always have to pay a lot more for it.
>>
nothing. congrats on your $2200USD 4chan machine
>>
>>740132224
I always found this kind of a silly question because there are genres that feel more natural a certain way.
Action/adventure, sandbox, platformers and racing games you play on a controller.
Everything else, specially FPS, strategy and base building games you play on KB/M.
There's always exceptions, but they are rare.
>>
Goys, how hyped are you for Steam Machine?
It was always gonna be an overpriced luxury item where much of the price would come from the small form factor, sleek look and loving Gebbie.
But I was imagining it was gonna be maybe 1.5x what I would consider appropriate.
Right now I think it's gonna be like 2x-2.5x.
>>
>>740132903
I was never going to buy it in the first place.
Literally what's the point? You can always get a PC for cheaper if you build it yourself.

Isn't it rather easy and cheap to upgrade your cooling?
This $30 CPU fan is really, really good for its price point.

Are AMD GPUs really that bad?
>>
>>740136605
You will always be dealing with SOME sort of esoteric driver/software related bullshit that Nvidia users never have to (but they have to deal with issues caused by curry-stinking vibe coding)

In that case, I admit I am a retard who knows nothing, and I hope you can forgive me for pretending like I have any idea how these things work. Sincerely.
>>
>>740136605
Unfortunately yes. I'm not a big fan of Nvidia's business practices but if you want less issues and significantly better upscaling you gotta buy Nvidia. It's embarrassing how dogshit FSR looks compared to DLSS. I try not to use it much but for some games i have to because I'm a laptop gamer and some new titles i can't run 60 FPS native. Wherever possible i still prefer native with DLAA but DLSS is still so convenient to have as a fallback option

it depends

it's opposite day if you use linux because the drivers are actually good there and the nividia drivers are ass. if you use windows then it's lol
