>>740135683This. Add unskippable cutscenes and randomness so that speedrunning is a pain in the ass. If it's a fighting game don't add a lot of technical stuff and make training mode barebones. Try to copyright strike tournaments and events. Absolutely no colorful anime or even western cartoon graphics. Character customization should not be so deep that it allows you to play dress-up. Having badass adult dudes and hot women who are not too young and girly as your cast helps a bit too but it's not a silver bullet. On that note, characters can not be robots or animals, make them humans.
