What can be done to bring mystery back into games

Did wikis and streamers defeat vidya mystery once and for all?

Do what from software does and make the game built around talking with people about it.

From Software is literally one of the biggest offenders when it comes to killing vidya mystery

They are the best at making mysterious games no one can capture how they do it, tons try and they all fail.

They literally make exclusively wikibait and streamer bait, they send their games to streamers before anyone else can get them, they got a YouTuber to produce the Bloodborne movie

Nothing. Every game gets data mined day 1 and uploaded for all to see. The only solution is to isolate yourself from any online resources

Play the next chapter of Deltarune on release.
You have about 28 hours until everything gets spoiled, but until then it's full of mysteries for you to uncover.

What if I'm not gay, trans, furry, or autistic?

Its because they put a bunch of effort into the environment that aids the story telling. It took like 7 games of item descriptions before people realized the game world itself had stuff to talk about that wasn't in the item descriptions.

Playing an unknown game will give you the same sense of mystery when there are no wikis or online discussions to seek out for answers. You are the only resource.
I did that a few years ago with a mystery dungeon game from a noname developer and it was fantastic. I played it in parallel to a friend and us exchanging our findings felt like I was back on the playground during recess talking about the game I played the night before. He then made a sequel so I jumped on that. Waiting on his third entry now.
I literally have no one to talk to about this series of games, at best I can lurk 5ch to see what the japanese think about it.
