>>740156950Tbf that's how narrative works in games. There's a lot of work fleshing out the world and characters so that dev can be unblocked in starting to build assets. You need key beats to start developing vertical slices, you need narrative set pieces to start building out cutscenes. A lot of work goes into preparing to actually put the game together as a whole and when you do that, stuff sometimes just doesn't fit together. There is also the reality that stuff gets cut and the devs need to pull shit out of their ass to make everything else make sense with the bits that end up on the cutting room floor.
