Still, effective range and direction are a core part of defining weapon variety. It would be unbelievably fucking bland if you had every weapon omnidirectional and share the range and the only difference is DPS and shit.

This is the opposite of my experience. I was taking constant breaks when playing Bō: Path of the Teal Lotus. It didn't help, quite the opposite, it was actively hindering me. Only when I sat down and played it continuously for tens of hours I was able to overcome deaths and develop muscle memory.
