Crime Or Punishment got a new demo, like two days ago. If you like puzzle and detective games with noir jazzy atmosphere, give this a try. https://store.steampowered.com/app/2907090/Crime_or_Punishment/I thought it was fun and subversive back in the October 2024 steam next fest, I'm sure other anons might remember it. You play as a crooked detective, whose objective is to frame innocent people for crimes they didn't commit in order to protect the local mob. It plays like your usual adventure detective game/VN. You investigate a crime scene, review testimony and evidence, but instead of figuring out the truth you have to build a convincing enough case to put the blame on someone. You can directly tamper with the evidence, but you also have to make said manipulation fit with the general narrative around the case at hand. (i.e the means have to make sense based on the suspect's physical attributes, contextual elements surrounding the individual in question need to highlight a believable motive etc.)It's clearly on a shoestring budget, but I think the game has charm. It was in limbo for 1.5 years with devs seldom showing signs of life. I'm glad this is being worked on.
>>740177303They are finally adapting the book?
>>740177303that actually sounds fun, does it avoid the typical leftist narrative pandering or is it full on pandering soapbox?
>>740178592I don't remember anything obviously woke about the game. The voice acting was kind of low quality and funny, trying to imitate the Italian accent for the mob boss. It's a game about corruption, mafia and crime. I don't think wokeslop would've fit and I think I'd have noticed back then. I'm playing the new demo right now and I'm not sure what changed.
>>740178862do report back if there's any quirky reddit chungus humor that tries to subtly preach why "what you are doing is wrong and here's how you should feel bad about..." that breaks immersion.
>>740177303Hey I played that too. I blamed it on the woman
>>740178484No, it's a sequel.>Crime and Punishment>Crime or Punishment>Crime nand Punishment>Crime xor PunishmentEt cetera.
