The fucked up part is that they actually implemented enemy grabs as a punishment mechanic for just standing still...............but then also gave you a special "counter grabs" parry mechanic. It's so tiring.

I think it would be much better if all enemies tried to gank up and attack the player at once, but you get cool moves, positioning tools and powerful attacks that can hit multiple enemies at once to deal with them and maybe you can even use the envoirement in creative ways too.

Yeah. Entire demo is glorified tutorial even the boss fight is. Really bad choice for a demo honestly because its clear this is just after actual intro when Musashi gets gauntlet. These enemies also were this way in old Onimusha games though basically walking very slowly towards player while dragging their swords on ground. Parry was also in old games and was really OP but it worked differently - you had to time your attack with enemy attack instead of using block button.

Yeah, I haven't played the demo yet, but lots of anons said this was one of the issues they noticed. The AI only attacks one at a time, so it makes even easier than it already is. The parry window is apparently very long and easy to land as well.

it's like yakuza where fighting street mobs just mindlessly spamming two moves is boring and shallow but you get to underground coliseum on hardest and have to actually engage with mechanics and your whole toolkit and it becomes really fun

From decades of journo reviews and YouTube shit, it's become clear that most people want games with 3D graphics that "flatten" design as much as possible. They don't want games that actually take advantage of 3D space. Look at how many retards complain about "bad cameras" because if an enemy goes offscreen for so much as a nanosecond they start pissing and shitting themselves. God forbid you use audio cues, mechanics that help with controlling combat, or just basic object permanence skills. No, I need the enemy onscreen doing a retarded dance and- actually know that's not enough, have them also flash a color before they do their attack because I can't be bothered to actually pay attention to anything.
