>all the games releasing the same month as GTA6

It's lonely at the top..

Genuinely what is the hype even about? 25% better graphics compared to GTA5? Nothing else?

I just don't get it

much larger map, better NPCs, new story, etc

>much larger map
Is it? We know nothing about it, San Andreas felt bigger than 5

>better NPCs
Better how

>new story, etc
It's probably the least interesting story based on trailers/previews in the series to date
>>
>>740182158
>Better how
compare 5 to RDR2 and extrapolate
>>
>>740181475
it's one of those things like league of legends or destiny or whatever blizzard game
it's essentially a quarantine zone of "gamers" that have only ever played one game in their lives, so when the next update comes out they're all excited and feel like they're a part of gaming culture or whatever so they'll crawl out of their little destitute scum dens to post about it

nobody is passingly interested in gta, the last game came out on a console that debuted 20 years ago
the only people that are going to play it are the people that never stopped playing it in the first place
everyone else has moved on from gaming or isn't going to be sated by rockslop
>>
>>740181416
I look forward you to posting endless threads about GTA6 instead of playing it.
>>
>>740182428
I haven't played RDR2 so I couldn't tell, but does Rockstar transfer game design between series like that? I feel like I remember there was stuff people expected in RDR2 based on GTA5 that didn't happen

If either got some Bully-like mechanics I'd be delighted

GTA V was 13 years ago. GTA VI will be compared to RDR2.

sorry take2, or whoever rockslop's owner is
that's the reality of the situation, nobody that isn't actively playing gta is interested in gta, you waited two decades to release another entry, no soul cares for the soulless

blase and not fun to anyone that isn't 45 dad-gamer that wants games played for them?

It's not going to be bigger than Just Cause 2 or Ghost Recon Wildlands, so who cares?
>>
>>740183069
RDR2 was a moviegame, trying to do even the most basic action (horse riding, shooting, collecting stuff...) was a monumental pain in the balls
GTA5 and RDR1 were more arcadey with snappier controls, less realistic but more fun, RDR1 was at least
>>
>>740182062
I don't know how much of a shit I can give about map size if its still mostly empty wilderness, tiny useless side towns and one kind of big city
>>
>>740184041
RDR1's combat is dogshit compared to RDR2, which is like the most fun shit you can do in these games

We already know it will.

hilariously, september is now way more risky for all of them because its super crowded
i think they're somewhat over evaluating the fact that not everyone gives a shit about gta
>>

So 5% better graphics than RDR2?
>>
>>740181416
If Ocarina of Time Remake is dropping this year it will be in November or December. They don't give a fuck about GTA.
>>
>>740184754
Yeah, consider how huge Animal Crossing was in 2020 yet Doom Eternal came out the same day and did super well too because they were aimed at different audiences, wild how no one is trying to cash in on the vacuum left for the people that don't care about GTA
>>
>>740185057
it's also not coming out on pc so pc crowd doesn't care

Why are so many people intentionally obtuse when it comes to GTA? Like have you ever even played the series? Do you consider GTA IV to V "just 25% better graphics"? If so, what sequel does this not apply to, according to you?

People want a new game in a very popular series with a new map and new story and so on.

Like I'm so fucking serious, we get that you want to be perceived as not caring so you can feel special for being above the mob, but when the questions you ask have blindingly obvious answers ("why are people excited for a sequel?") it just makes you seem fucking stupid.
>>
>>740182158
>San Andreas felt bigger than 5
It objectively wasn't, it just intentionally had fewer straight roads to prevent you from getting from A to B as fast, as a necessity because it eased load times, which was disguised by much closer distance fog.

5s map is multiple times larger than SA, and definitely feels bigger, but doesn't feel like like 10x larger it actually is because it doesn't intentionally restrict your movement (in fact short of the mountain range north of the city, travel across GTA Vs map is very streamlined thanks to the highway loop and a reasonable amount flatlands because they don't need to restrict you for loading reasons).
>>
>>740185743
>Do you consider GTA IV to V "just 25% better graphics"?
V had the triple protagonists gimmick, planes in a HD era game, an interesting story premise, and a return to the most beloved city in the series, I don't see anything like that in VI, even the Vice City itself is not appealing when people like it for its 80s vibe whereas the modern one just feels like Los Santos again

I guess the female protagonist could've been interesting if she wasn't Shrek

I'm excited for it, I'm not "the most hyped game of all time" excited for it, the hype is ridiculously overblown given what we were shown. If the game previewed a huge new map, destruction physics, a co-op mode, Sims-like everyday life immersion, SOMETHING new then I'd understand it, but this is a yearly iteration type of sequel that was only delayed this much because Rockstar didn't want to end the GTAO Shark Card gravy train before its time.

>It objectively wasn't, it just intentionally had fewer straight roads to prevent you from getting from A to B as fast, as a necessity because it eased load times, which was disguised by much closer distance fog.
That's honestly irrelevant, having that much variety in regions and cities and the story progression made it feel far larger which is far more important that just saying "yeah the number here is objectively larger" if you don't actually feel it.

>I'm excited for it, I'm not "the most hyped game of all time" excited for it, the hype is ridiculously overblown given what we were shown
People keep saying this but how is it "overblown". Like what specifically are you seeing that makes the hype "too much". I see people excited for it, a lot of people, which yeah, of course they are, it's a new GTA for the first time in over 10 years. If anything would inherently garner a large amount of hype, it would be that, surely, due to the sheer number of people who historically buy and play the games.

We haven't gotten the proper gameplay trailers yet, the ones that are narrated and go into the new mechanics like V got, but we presumably will. Until then people can only speculate, which... they are doing I guess? Like what is overblown here. What do you expect the hype for a sequel to the fastest product in human history to make a billion dollars to be like?

And before it's misinterpreted, I'm not saying it inherently deserves it. I'm saying that people being hype is a perfectly reasonable expected reaction.

>Mario Kart 8 is the fifth best selling game of all time, released in 2014
>got a sequel in 2025, 11 years later
>the sequel promised a huge shakeup in how the game is played
>moderate hype because it's still just more of the same, which it ended up being

>gets a sequel in 2026, 13 years later
>the sequel doesn't promise anything new or groundbreaking and looks like a
>the most hyped game of all time by far

Sorry man I just think hype should be reserved for actual new and exciting things instead of more of the same or hype because everyone else is hyped due to some vapid bandwagoning social feel like FOMO

You can't shame and mock publishers/developers for not wanting to release in the same block/month as GTA VI. A game that literally has been memed to death and back for the last like seven years, and everyone is aware of the hype/draw that GTA brings. Look at what happened when GTA V launched. We had literal actual pictures of people skipping work, cancelling meetings, classes, appointments, etc. Just so they could play GTA V.
