>>740183232I own one, got the controller bundle last year from amazon on clearance.The base mode for it isn't anything special, lacking even. You'd buy one for the novelty and pc mode. It's basically a Steam Machine that's about a little stronger than a Switch 1 and a little weaker than an Xbox One, depending on the upgrades you make towards its ssd and ram. Most 7th and 8th gen games run well enough when played on low and through bazzite, and even some modern titles have surprising performance on the thing like Sonic Racing Crossworlds. The modern controller is just an xbox controller, but the "classic" controller is neat and has a cute gimmick It's a cute piece of tech, charming even, especially after learning that the Atari it launched under back in 2021 only had about 30 employees total. Not worth the launch price but for the 90 bucks I paid for it's neat.Makes me think about its missed potential as an console and competitor this generation. I feel it would have done well enough had Atari actually tried to market the thing beyond its fundraiser and get publishers on board.

>>740191981It's a fun, novel thing, kinda like the wiimote or the dualsense. For atari and early arcade games it's pretty nice, the main gimmick is the middle stick can be pushed and rotates like a screw. There's enough buttons to potentially play games in an interesting and novel way.

Ironically if they had released it now days it would probably do super well with a little marketing. They could easily undercut the steam machine while banking off the excitement for it especially when pcs are so ridiculously overpriced now. You start cheap and as you prove yourself eventually earn the right to charge a premium. If you do charge a premium out the gate you better have some badass specs to back it up at least.
