Personal loot in raid sucks, at least from the way they wanted it to be implemented. Keeping everyone's ability to roll and trade so guilds can actually distribute gear is great. Personal loot really only works for pug groups, but when you're pug raiding for gear you might as well shoot yourself. Honestly everything is much better when you're just able to funnel gear to the appropriate people. I miss mythic raiding because getting funneled gear early in the tier saved a lot of headache especially for keeping up with arbitrary walls like people not accepting certain ilvls after the first week of content like fags. I honestly wish Blizzard would just increase the amount of drops in raid encounters. Especially now that gearing doesn't even matter in retail anymore.

Nah, it really doesn't. Splitting the raid into three parts means you can easily do split groups to overgear people. And now everyone outside the top 10 HoF clears can get their teams to keep doing lower mythic clears for vault/more gear without being locked out for however many months of prog. Most of your player power since forever has come from overtuned trinkets and once you get those you're pretty much set, everything else is ilvl and meaningless substat management.

The content right now has been the most ridiculously undertuned content in a while. 3.8k IO might as well be the new 3k IO of Dragonflight s1. Mythic raid this tier is a cakewalk and it's already been nerfed to oblivion way faster than normal. You could be clearing 20s and jerking off on first 7 mythic bosses of this tier in base level hero gear before you even feel like you're in danger much less ever feeling like you're short on damage.
