Why did this entire genre of el quirky indie rpgs just die? There is only 1 (one) relevant game of its kind and it's just Deltarune. All the newer stuff adjacent to it don't sell at all and never get discussed.
The genre was made due to the limits of systems that no longer exist we play real games now.

Someday, I too wish to make an RPG based on Phantasy Star, and this exact issue in conjunction with being quite ambitious are the biggest things keeping me from doing it.
