I did not enjoy the Bamham elements, the pulled in camera, or the lack of a jump button. Musashi is entertaining and the game looks nice, but that's not enough to carry a whole $70 game.

The window for the counter which stuns them for some reason, is huge, this is a button masher. The originals needed precise timing to get a critical that needed to be done immediately and perfect timing to chain them or parry that only left them vulnerable for a short moment.

It's fun but pretty generic and no longer feels uniquely like Onimusha. It feels typical like "press 1 button at the right time" type action game gameplay. Block at the last moment to get perfect parry from any angle and get rewarded bigly, and you can just iframe dodge through it attacks. It doesn't feel like positioning and spacing matters much and makes it feel more one-note.
