Roxas really resonated with that intro. I played KH2 first in the summer of 2006 as a teenager. Playing KH1 with the unskippable cutscenes and jank afterwards was torture (LEAD ME INTO EVERLASTING DARKNESS!). Playing COM on the GBA is even more torturous with Riku Replica battle 4.

Don't know how to explain it but I remember the game just going from good to just ok especially coming from KH1. I still enjoyed 2 but there was definitely something lacking in that game and this was OG KH2 before Final Mix.

>>740206989It really depends on what you play it for and what you appreciated about the first game. 2 is flashier and has a fair amount of content to it (pre FM) but 1 plays as more of an RPG than 2 does. Your progression is more gradual and things like tech points, the limited skills you start with, unique accessories and level design being less flat than 2 with lots of interactions and out of the way items makes that progression more noticeable.I think both are great but I enjoy replaying 1 more whereas 2 is more just loading a finished save to refight the organization members.
