For gameply mods Mmod is overrated but alright if you get tired of the animations and want the combine to be a little more lethal (albeit unfair) If you're interested in the HL2 beta concepts Raising the Bar Redux is pretty neat. I'll find some more mods I have saved if you're interested

I love Overcharged.Perfect levels of Jank and fun.Some cool ideas on paper, like alternate routes throughout the game, integrating beta/e3 areas/enemies, but also has some so-bad-it's-good levels of unnecessary map additions like some enemy spam, but still, it's fun to gib everything, so who cares.People only focused on the controversy and mass hate on it lol.
