The world building is incredible but the gameplay is terrible
>>740210959Like in all Bethesda games
>>740210959It's fun to abuse, just like all the other TES games.
>>740210959its all dice rolls.if you like table top you wont give a shit.world building is still unmatched to this day.
>>740211124it's action based and braindead for retardsi like rpgs for tactical combat, not m1ing braindead enemies
Not a big fan of Argonians
>>740210959>world buildingOpinion discarded. Get some better material.
>>740210959the gameplay is good though
>>740211263Fuck a pally
>>740211072fpbp/thread
>>740210959But did you see any elves?
Hopping around swamps talking to NPCs and snatching septims is all u need baby
Unironically impossible to play backwards compatible on Xbox the control scheme is from an original Xbox controller
>>740211263Farm tools are not people
>>740210959You're wasting your time. Fanboys will just tell you to mod the combat or any other aspect you don't like. If you haven't taken the time to fix it with the available mods, the Morrowind Defense Force will say, then the fault lies with you and not with the game.
>>740210959It starts off that way, but as you get stronger the game gets more fun. When I can pry myself from Factorio I'm planning on a replay, but I'll wait until Poison Song first.
>>740210959Skill issue.
>>740217798There are no good mods that fix the combat, you may as well just play with the base combat, or play a magic character and dunk on everything.
>>740218093There is though.https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/58658https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/59154https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/55064https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/58262https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/58430https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/54976
>>740217708what region is this?
>>740218378Nwah'd is probably the best looking one but everything still looking meh, Skyrim combat is not good, neither is TESIV combat, they only have 1 thing over Morrowind and that's better visual feedback.
>Worldbuilding=the books that you find aroundMorrowind is terrible in its entirety, you gain levels by hitting doors with spells, its the trashiest of sandbox trash and just because it has nice buildings it doesn't mean the world feels logical, dynamic or connected in any way.
>>740210959>world buildingnonexistent in MWseethe as much as you want, you know it to be true
>>740211081Not really. You break the game with alchemy one time and then realize it's more fun to roleplay, pick a limited set of skills and immerse yourself in the world. The game is trivial by level 20 regardless of your build, what's the point in making it trivial at level 1?
>>740210959Enemies actually flinching when you hit them makes the combat automatically better than Skyrim
>>740210959Play a conservative game like DOOM then, it has the opposite issue
>>740220396it doesnt because that fact doesnt contribute to any strategic or depth or variety
>>740211072Oblivion and Skyrim dont even come close to the world building of Morrowind, and its scary.
>>740211072No since most Bethesda games have dogshit worldbuilding
>>740220115There is no roleplay without meaningful choices and there is no immersion in a supposed RPG without roleplay>>740220686They are all the same, a world made of cardboards that all vomit the same lines at the player, Fallout 3 is the only exception and that's only because they knew that Fallout fans had (at the time) way higher standards than Elder Scrolls fans.
>>740220783>Talks about Fallout.I agree actually, Fallout was a fucking treat when I got to play the first two games in the past few years.
I dont want combat in tes copy dark souls
>>740214264there has been a series of people trying to disprove that Skyrim is better than Morrowind by saying>actually Morrowind gameplay is good if you have a lot of stamina because... things die fast then even though none of that makes morrowinds combat good, just easywhich is honestly the most disengenious thing Ive ever heardMorrowinds combat, both for its strategic, tactile as well as action elements is the bottom 5% of combat systems in games period. Worse than Pathologic, Daggerfall or VTMB
https://youtu.be/T-otpq6oI2Q?t=6916>I think Morrowinds combat is goodhere's the special needs person ruining your TES threads
>>740220986TSMT
>>740220986>none of that makes morrowinds combat good, just easyThat's what morrowfans desire, that's why their "gameplay" revolves around exploits.
>>740210959this is a case where>there's a mod for thatis applicable in every instance
>>740224561What's the best mod list that adds the most shit?
>>740210959>The world building is incredibleIt really, really, really isnt. There's like 20 quests written by Todd personally that are so poorly constructed you'd think he got the Mexican ground keeper to do it and 95% of the game is a handful of copy pasted assets used over and over with level scaled enemies. (Which the people who play this game pretend doesn't exist, even though every game in the series uses level scaling extremely extensively)
>>740225559dunno. I use my own modlist
>>740210959The non-linear unmarked quest system of morrowind creates this strange dilemma where exploration is heavily discouraged early in the game because going even a little bit outside civilization means instantly you’ll die to cliff racers or something equally horrendous. It becomes difficult to map where you should go & where you should avoid like the plague because of how enemies & locations are placed. If you play Daggerfall, at early levels you know to stick with delivery quests & ignore dungeons until you level up a bit more to handle them. In Skyrim you can find out really quick that bandits are fair game at any level but giants will kill you early. In Oblivion you can pretty much tackle most things outside towns early because few of them pose a challenge. For Morrowind, you have to go through tremendous trial & error to figure out where you should step.
