Imo the remake is a 50/50. Seems like they stayed loyal to the core gameplay elements and the difficuty (if you play on gothic difficulty), but they also showed a lot of small weird mistakes like putting wrong clothes/things in wrong places, as if the entire dev team never played gothic even once in their lives and are guessing what is correct lore wise. Also, it's a remake and not remaster, and they already said that the map is larger with more quests and lore than the original so we will see. There was a small drama with AI being bad, like mobs waiting for their turn or NPCs not reacting to you or mobs at all, but couple of days ago they released a video where it seems to be fixed. No embargo lift/full reviews 24 hours before the release is a red flag too. Was thinking about pre-ordering, but will wait and see.

I hate level scaling. The only type of level scaling that i can tolerate is when level 1 mobs are scaled up a little to not die from literally 1 touch from the player, but a very mild upscaling, not something that would make level 1 mobs a threat to level 100 player. When it comes to scaling down hard mobs, it's a hard pass for me whenever games have it. High level area/mobs should be able to one shot you as a barrier and force you to level up /skill up.

I kind of hate the Gothic 3 soundtrack. The music is nice when you're listening to it but ingame it gets super annoying quick. I got PTSD from the combat music initial stings. And the exploration music is too overbearing. Even Kairo himself admitted he went too far. But yeah, on its own it's pretty good.
